This is at the top end of your budget, and you might be able to get some deals on it.
But this is also very true. If the PC you’re looking to buy is a “want” and not a “need”, I would recommend...
Better airflow case, modern CPU which will nail streaming, 32GB of fast RAM, the 3070 will nail 1440p monitor (with room in the budget to get one), fast storage for OS and programs, games, and general storage.
PSU aimed with the future in mind, top end cooler in terms of performance and...
The case is a solid choice. It’s what I have in my rig and it performs well. With headphones I can’t tell if it’s on, and I think with a little fan curve tweaking I can make it quieter still. You will want a strong AIO to look after temps as there is always a trade off in airflow when you go for...
Agree with @SpyderTracks above. It's awesome that you've got great usage out of your old system, but if it's still working well it doesn't make sense to upgrade now when we're getting big generational upgrades coming in just a few months.
If your current PC has bricked up that's a different...
Hi there,
So just to confirm you’re looking for a PC to game on, as well as to stream with. Is that streaming your PC gameplay on twitch?
With your £1500 budget, does that also include a monitor? If not, do you have already have a monitor or have one in mind? If you have a monitor please could...
There’s the G7 Neo and G4 Neo as well. G7 is 4k165hz and G4 is 1080p240hz.
But 100% agree, there are lots of resolutions on the market but a far smaller selection suited for gaming 🙂
Looking at his link, it does look like 4K Ultrawide is a thing. Monitor linked is a 27inch 4K Monitor stretched to a 16:9 resolution. It is only 60hz though, so not intended for gaming.
The new Samsung G7 Neo might be an option for you, with a 32 inch 4K QLED panel, but I would hold judgment...
Apologies, I got distracted after the initial post. Build from @sck451 is great though, makes the most of your budget. Upgrading to the 5700X CPU would be ideal but as Fortnite isn’t massively demanding sticking with the 5600X should be fine as well.
Hi there,
The spec isn't ideal I'm afraid, it's got a weak motherboard, RAM, cooler and PSU among other areas. I know that we can spec you something better.
To help us spec something more appropriate please could you let us know your budget, and the monitor you are pairing this with (make and...
Yep, GPU prices are finally falling which is great to see. There might well be cheaper options elsewhere. What is great about PCS is that they have an open box policy: you are able to open up your PC and swap out components without affecting your warranty. The GPU is one of the easiest...
Hi there,
Great to see that you’ve got 10 years of value from your current PCS system! It really goes to show that if you spend the time to spec it right you will see those benefits for years to come.
If your current system is still performing well I would definitely recommend holding out a few...
A lot of good things right in this build, it looks like you’ve done your research, but there are still a few areas I would change.
Before we go into them, please can you let us know your budget and use case, and add the configuration link so we can more easily make edits, and then we can see...
Hi there,
This is a decent attempt, but is a little unbalanced in a few areas.
With this sort of budget, I would definitely ask if you’re happy to wait a few months? We’re getting new generations of CPUs and GPUs later in the year which are going to be big improvements over the current...
You're slightly underspending in some areas so unfortunately we can't quite keep it down to the original amount, but this will be a nicely balanced system.

LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE I know the Spectrum has nice aesthetics, but the Lian Li case is far better for airflow. With a case...
Just to clarify, are you looking for PC and monitor for £2000, or £2300 for both?
Your original spec comes in at 1709, but it is a little unbalanced and I would definitely recommend some changes.
Please could you confirm the above so I know what budget I'm working with :)
Hi Steve,
Is this already ordered?
There are quite a few areas that I wouldn’t recommend.
If you’re happy with your build I wish you all the best, but if you’d like some advice please could you let us your budget and use case, and we can try and spec something more appropriate out for you.
Pushing the boat out a little, but in my opinion you just can’t get a well balanced 4K gaming PC for £2k without cutting some corners. You’ve obviously done a lot of research which is great to see, but some areas are still a little undercooked.

So “longevity” is a bit of a touchier subject, as we are getting new CPU and GPU releases later this year, which will beat out anything I spec for you today.
But if you don’t want to wait another 3-4 months (which I can fully respect) the build doesn’t need much changed. To handle 4K, and more...
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET While overspecced for your current needs this PSU should cover you for the lifetime of the build. Future GPU generations have been confirmed to be very power hungry, so this extra headroom will be useful in accommodating a...
