Hello folks,
I would like to ask for your assistance with brainstorming a desktop PC build that would suit my needs. Please let me know if my details are too vague, but I'm going to try to answer what I've noticed were common questions in other threads where people asked for help.
The PC would primarily be used for light gaming in the evenings, with a few games that I'd like to enjoy regularly:
World of Warcraft (Classic versions and retail)
Battlefield V
Fallout 76
(Potentially other online shooters and MMOs)
The CPU would preferably be AMD, as I'm getting the impression that they're delivering better products than Intel, judging purely by market reactions.
The monitor I'd like to use (I do not currently own one) would be a 1440p 144+Hz one, between 27" and 32". As much as I'd love to go for 4k, I understand that it would require a pretty expensive and probably out-of-budget GPU to run games with high FPS on high settings in 4k.
Running high settings with high FPS is somewhat of a priority for me (and it's something I've never experienced cause my previous PCs were always crap ), so I'm ready to sacrifice a bit of image quality.
For example, is this any good: https://www.buyitdirect.ie/p/aoc-cq32g2se-32-qhd-165hz-1ms-freesync-gaming-monitor-cq32g2sebk ?
Suggestions for other screens are welcome.
A thing that I'd love to incorporate in the build is a sound card for some extra immersion or "edge" in online shooters. Again, something I've no previous experience of using, but was recommended by someone into competitive FPS games. Is it worth it?
My budget is around €2100 without the monitor. Potentially I could flex it for 10% or so, but only if it would bring significant improvement in specs.
TL;DR:
AMD build
1440p monitor 27"+
High FPS on games a few years old, mostly online shooters
Sound card desired
Budget ~€2100 or slightly more (monitor not in budget)
Thanks to everyone for taking time to assist me and please let me know if my expectations are not realistic. Have a good one!
