    PCSPECIALIST One-liners

Does that mean that I can't tell the story of the parrot that giggled when you ruffled it's feathers whilst it lay on its back on a cushion? Apparently it lived with its owner in the Norfolk town of Diss. Pity, it was a good story, but it's not allowed because it was a.... Polly tickle Diss...

PCSPECIALIST Game crashing my PC. Overheating? Powerspike?

That's starting to sound much more like a hardware issue now. The first thing I'd suggest is that you remove one of the RAM sticks - be sure to leave the single stick in the correct slot according to the motherboard manual, usually it's A2 - and run on one stick for a few days. If the system is...

    PCSPECIALIST PC rebooting itself

Buy another cable, they're readily available and not expensive. It would be good to know whether the card works in the old PC because, if it does, you can sell it on as a working card. I just had an afterthought. I wonder whether the problem could be the extra power cable? Is it fully home at...

If you still have the old PC does the card still work in there? At least you've confirmed what the problem is.

    PCSPECIALIST AMD issues.

Interesting. The AMD Crash Detection System must have appeared in the dumps because it was failing to recover a faulty graphics card then? That's worth knowing for the future. (y)

PCSPECIALIST PC not turning on, Memory Error message

The best way to confirm it's RAM is to remove two sticks. Leave RAM in slots A2 and B2. It it still won't boot then swap sticks, still using A2 and B2. If it won't boot with either pair of sticks removed then it's not RAM.

It would be a much more reliable test if the card was removed - and the driver uninstalled (via DDU). It's important that we have confidence that the 580 is definitely not involved. It can still draw power and communicate via the PCIe lanes if you leave it in. Troubleshooting is often painful...

Those are the ones, perhaps you do need them both? That sounds odd though... We'll know more if it restarts without the 580 card.

PCSPECIALIST How to reduce the temperature of my CPU?

Thanks for the input but I doubt anybody is watching a four year old thread! It's generally not wise to resurrect necro threads because unwitting people will start offering advice to the OP - who probably isn't even using this laptop now!

    PCSPECIALIST Freezing/crashing issue

Can you do two things for me to collect troubleshooting data please.... 1. Navigate to C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports. Under there may be many sub-folders, check in every sub-folder and upload all dumps (.dmp) that you find. 2. Even though you're not betting BSODs please download the...

Ok, now you hopefully have only one version of amdkmdag.sys installed we'll see how it goes. If you have more problems please run the Sysnative file collector again and upload the new output.

    PCSPECIALIST PC rebooting itself

People, the OP's issue is NOT related to wireless printing, so can we please stick to the point. That error looks as though the installer is pointing to the wrong folder. That's very odd with the AMD support tool. You might do better downloading the specific Radeon 580 driver from here, then...
