Wow, that’s a monstrous budget you’ve got there, I have to say I’m very jealous!
As you would imagine, it’s hard to spend £5k badly, but there are certainly some areas I would double check.
Firstly, do you need 64GB of RAM? 32GB should be ample for gaming and streaming, and also means you can go...
In a bit of a rush, so I’ll just whack this spec down. I appreciate we’re over budget already, and we haven’t even included our monitor, and giving the current cost of living crisis I don’t want to be seen as strong-arming you into spending more than you would like to. But the below is in my...

The full Telltale Walking Dead series is 75% off which is a good deal for the content you get, would recommend most people experiencing it.
Just finished playing the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and it was a blast. The rest of the reboot series (Rise and Shadow) are also on sale...
This Gigabyte monitor is a great Ultrawide pick at £500, might be cheaper if you shop around a little.
If you want to stick with standard 16:9 resolution 4K is achievable with your budget. This Acer monitor is only £400 for a powerful 4K 144hz display. There are quite a few strong options around...
You have a very healthy budget, you can definitely get into 4K gaming, or alternatively this will be great for 1440p Ultrawide and VR too. Jumping into a meeting but will go into more detail when I come out. :)

Easiest change is to switch to an AM4 build.
The 5800X3D is a fantastic gaming CPU. While the 13th gen CPUs will excel in tasks where cores matter, the 5800X will offer a similar level of gaming performance for a much lower price, especially when factoring in motherboard and RAM costs.

Sound cards are largely redundant these days. Modern motherboards come with really good audio already, you have to get a proper audio setup to beat what's already included. So I wouldn't recommend a sound card, but if you do get one you'll be fine from a cooling and power perspective.

Hi there!
For what looks like a £3k budget you can get a lot more bang for your buck than this.
The first question is whether your old build can be upgraded or whether a whole new system is the way to go.
If you are looking to get a whole new build please could you confirm your budget, if you...

Hi there,
Good effort but I would not recommend buying this build as it currently stands. You’re undercooked in the cooling and PSU department, and there are other areas that could be optimised.
If you could let us know your budget, and confirm if this PC will be used solely for gaming, with...
This is where I would land you. Solid 6 core CPU, for 4K gaming this will be fine for years to come. We could look at a Ryzen 7000 build but that would add a considerable amount onto the budget, AM4 is still going to be ample for a lot of people.
16GB of fast RAM, a 3080 to get the most out of...
A proper monster of a build here!
Only a couple of changes I would recommend. Your cooling is a little light, the H100x is an older model, for the latest gen CPUs I would recommend the H115i or H150i Capellix.
Also, for £5 on a £3500 build silver warranty is well worth it.
This 1440p monitor paired with the build below will put you £50 over budget, but should handle 1440p gaming with the 3 games mentioned above. It will struggle a little if your son tries some more demanding titles though.

Is this a PC you have recently bought or are you in the process of configuring a new one to buy? Either way I would recommend the 1TB or 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD. If you are in the process of configuring a PC we can give you advice on the whole build if you would like that too.
Going for a 1440p build plus monitor on a £1500 is quite tight. 1440p monitors start from about £220 with the stronger options coming in around the £280-£300 mark. The 3060 is more of a 1080p card, but will handle 1440p on less demanding games like Roblox and Fortnite. It is also £70 over the...
Actually, looking again you can get better value by going for an AMD build at the moment. With the extra money you can go for some fast storage for windows and a secondary drive for your games.
