PCSPECIALIST 1440p Gaming and General use PC

27 inches is the sweet spot for 1440p. As you go larger the pixel density decreases and can visibly distort images to some viewers. The general consensus (although opinions vary, hence why monitor makers sell varying sizes) is that 1080p is optimal at 24 inches, 1440p is optimal at 27 inches...

PCSPECIALIST 1440p Gaming and General use PC

This comes in about the same price as your build above but should perform slightly better. Case LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE Much better airflow for the same price. PCSPECIALIST Any tweaks to this build? Almost exclusivity gaming with some VMs set up for pen testing.

Skynet is calling, it wants its leader back! Hard to go wrong when spending this sort of money. Would question the need for RAID, it's not used very much anymore, and then only having 1TB of storage is a little on the low side. Silver warranty for a fiver is also a no brainer at this sort of budget.

PCSPECIALIST 1440p Gaming and General use PC

Hi there, Really solid first attempt on the spec, and thanks for going over your needs. To clarify a little on “general purpose” is that to cover tasks like Microsoft office, emails, zoom calls or is there something a bit more demanding you had in mind? You mentioned coding above, just want to...

    PCSPECIALIST New gpu

Assuming these are still your specs, You have quite a low wattage PSU, that limits your options a little. Ideal GPU upgrade would probably be a 3060ti or 3070 with your 1440p monitor in mind, but I would ideally want a 750/850+ PSU to run those with. In terms of other upgrades you could...

PCSPECIALIST Well i thought the films were bad..............

Apparently in my youthful years when my dad was still playing rugby I would patrol the sidelines on Saturday afternoons and beg beer off of the spectators. Allegedly I had my first pint aged 2…

PCSPECIALIST Need some advice regarding build (£2500-ish)

Strong build from Scott here. Better airflow case, adjusted storage for a speedy primary drive for Windows and Programs, and a fast drive for your games. Beefier PSU for a bit of headroom and to manage the spikes from the 3080. Dropped Arctic paste as the Corsair coolers come with a superior...

PCSPECIALIST Need some advice regarding build (£2500-ish)

This is a pretty strong first attempt, but could do with some optimisation. Firstly, any uses besides gaming? Secondly, what monitor are you pairing this with? This is less of an issue with MSFS in mind as it will use a lot of grunt at any resolution, but with a 2600 budget you should really be...

PCSPECIALIST Looking for advice on draft build

I lie. 2 front 140mm fans and 1 rear 120mm fan, plus the 2 with my cooler. But never had any temperature issues while gaming 😊

PCSPECIALIST Looking for advice on draft build

Fractal comes with 3 front fans and 1 rear fan. Had no issues with cooling, you get both the solid top and the vented top with the build too so you can pick between the two depending if you want to prioritise temps or acoustics.

PCSPECIALIST Looking for advice on draft build

The 5800X3D has extra cache that helps optimise it for gaming. 8 cores is the sweet spot for gaming, indeed many titles function comfortably on 4 or 6, but modern consoles have 8 and that’s a good benchmark to run against. As stated above the 5800X3D with the absolute top tier latest gen CPUs...

PCSPECIALIST Looking for advice on draft build

I had something specced out near identically with this. CPU change gives you something that trades blows with the best CPUs on the market (7950X and 13900K) in gaming, while being cheaper and using less power. Motherboard change lets you use the 2tb 980 drive at full speed, the B550 caps the...

PCSPECIALIST Do PCSpecialist Gaming PC's all have USB-C ports

It depends on the build, but most, if not all motherboards PCS use have at least one rear USB-C port. That being said, I wouldn’t recommend a ready to ship build for the same reason I don’t recommend an off the shelf prebuilt. Such products tend to cheap out on important components like case...

    PCSPECIALIST Help a newbie!

First thing we need to know is your budget, we can spec you something very different if you set your higher threshold at £1500 versus £3000 for example. General tasks like google sheets aren’t hugely demanding so the sim racing will be the most demanding task to spec for. What monitor do you...

PCSPECIALIST Absolute noob's attempt at a custom Gaming PC. Help me please.

For £3k you could definitely make some optimisations. Firstly it would be nice to clarify your uses. The bulk of your post suggests this is purely a gaming system, but you have also mentioned multitasking a couple of times, so it would be handy if you could specify additional uses for the PC...

    PCSPECIALIST Looking for any surrgestions

Hi there, Looks like you've got a healthy budget there to get yourself a nice upgrade from your laptop. Firstly, please could you elaborate what work you're going to be using the PC for? e.g general MS Office, Zoom, or something more demanding like editing, rendering, animation etc. This will...

PCSPECIALIST Need help to know if this works

Hi mate, good to hear back from you. Wouldn't recommend a next day build, they tend to be a little light in the cooling and PSU department for my liking. If you could let us know what budget you're aiming we can try and spec something suitable to your needs. :)

    PCSPECIALIST Monster PC

Ok I guess that makes sense. You should be able to fit your programs on the primary drive, Windows won't take up 250GB by itself. Other changes I would recommend are above.
