If you're not desperate for it, i.e you need it to earn a living, then there's absolutely no reason to not wait until the new tech is released, especially if you're planning on spending upwards of £3k. It'd be a huge waste of your money if you bought now, in my opinion.

Yes, but where was the cable plugged into? One end in your monitor and the other end in the GPU or the Motherboard?
It definitely felt more useful a good few years ago. It was one of those extensions that I downloaded and then forgot about, so it just sat there. Recently got rid when I reinstalled Windows and now glad I did.
When you say "first boot", do you mean first boot after delivery or first boot of the day?
Have you tried booting without anything plugged in? No mouse, no keyboard etc.

What Remains of Edith Finch did a really great job of immersing you in each of the mini-games that you forget they're part of a much wider story. A story that can be fairly emotional at times. It was thoroughly enjoyable.
