Normally with a GPU RMA this would be covered with a replacement being sent out for you to swap and return the faulty one. Was this never offered as an option?
The screws themselves won't be numbered but the location they are screwing into on the pressure plate should be embossed. They are on my laptop as well. I have 2 that have stickers with the numbers on them also.
I guess the backtesting data programs are scalable by cores?
I'm not so sure you will get 5x faster with 2x the cores, what is the spec of the current server?
The B650 TUF is a good motherboard. No need for anything above that when gaming. When the budget is high, a more premium board could be considered but it would be the last thing on the last past what is required. I was just over budget when speccing, there's nothing I would lower to afford the...
With the budget in mind this is what I would look at:
Case
LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5)
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6)
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE...
Unfortunately the build is hugely compromised by the budget. It's just not feasible to get a good gaming PC for £1000. Those games you mention aren't too bad for being process hungry but the last thing you want to do is build a system that covers them but needs the bin when your aspirations...
From your requirements I don't think you need anything overly heavy duty, the build you have specced looks good but there are some changes I would definitely make.
The PCS drive I wouldn't have for any important information. It's a bit of an unknown with questionable endurance. I would want a...
There's nothing wrong with the offer of the alternative aesthetic. My point was the way it was presented suggested that the 5000X wasn't going to offer good performance. As with everything, the wording and presentation of the information is key. Having read this post (which was a lot in honesty...
It's definitely not what we would have recommended, the PSU will be right on the cusp of crashing the system when at full chat unfortunately. There's an assumption that you understand the configurator is a guide, unfortunately the manufacturers have effectively made standard power calculators...
My money is on Norton. It's a memory leak in itself. Just get rid of that for starters and see where you land. If it still happens then just get to the point where it's looking off again and post the same screenshot.
If the CPU means a 33% drop in performance then that's a huge bottleneck on the system. If you are happy with the 130FPS average then save money on the GPU over the CPU. The situation you are describing makes absolutely no sense as the last thing you want to be is CPU limited, it just shows a...
Remove norton. Should do away with most of your issues. We would never recommend any 3rd party AV as there are so many issues with them.
Looks like Radeon is pooling a fair chunk as well without using it. I wouldn't be overly concerned though. A commit of memory isn't the same as it being utilised.
Should be able to get into the BIOS regardless of a drive failure. If it's not letting you in, it's possibly that the drive has cooked and the system is waiting on a response before taking you into the BIOS. One easy way to check is disconnect the SSD drive sata cable and then re-attempt...
I would also consider the 4070 Ti. I know it's a fair bit more wedge but I think it will really give you that one and done WOW factor that you're looking for. It takes you out of the budget but if you got the build above with the 4070Ti and the monitor suggested, it would be a fantastic pairing...
Lian Li is excellent too, it's a little less conventional in the airflow as it comes from the side rather than the front. As long as the location of the case suits then should be fine.
You won't need to worry about overkill on the fans.
Samsung fell of the pedestal a while back. The Corsair is the best for quality & longevity, it's what I would want for reliance and speed.
If you think you'll use a cache drive for your processes then it's definitely worthwhile. Don't need to go for anything crazy though. Always keep the...
The RAM will be pre-set with the XMP etc on in this configuration. Below is the changes I would suggest. As much as it's relatively inexpensive to replace the PSU, it's better just to cover all the bases in one shot and let the configurator handle it. The larger power supply won't use more...
I would opt for the Define 7 as selected above. It's an excellent case and the sound proofing is really good. It really needs paired with an AIO to get the performance from the airflow, but everything in the suggested builds is well matched.
The H115i is the quietest of the AIO range, I had it...
