Just ordered the most expensive laptop I never thought I'd need.

When I receive my laptop, sorry, DTR, I will be using it on a laptop cooling pad initially and will see how it goes from there. It's not the cost but I'm old school and can't bring myself to mix water with electronics. :)
The fans on the cooling pad blow upwards to the bottom of the laptop so should help with air intake, at least to some extent. As I say the laptop won't be used for extended periods in the same way a gamer might use it.
Looking forward to getting it now although I do wonder how many of these GPU chassis they will get in at a time as I'm 27th in the queue.
Anyone have any knowledge of how many PCS get in at a time?

Just had a re-read of my ordered laptop specs whilst waiting for it to be in stock and see my details say it's NTSC, how do I change that to PAL?

??? where are you seeing that?

PAL vs NTSC will be set by the software you’re using and the media being played, its not like the old days with PAL vs NTSC on VHS tapes

NTSC was 50hz, PAL is 60Hz, any modern laptop is going to be capable of significantly more than that so the limit is the encoding of the DVD / Blu-ray you’re playing

Unless you’re talking about old school scanlines but again that’s not relevant on modern hardware as the resolution is significantly higher than old PAL / NTSC

I looked at my specs and went to detailed description and under display & graphics it says NTSC refer to configerator.

Do you mean the color gamut?

PAL vs NTSC is no longer a thing, that's in reference to only analog display standards. this laptop will have DP and HDMI, which supersedes the PAL standard. The NTSC here is in relation to the colour gamut, of which DCI-P3 is 86% of the NTSC gamut, compared to sRGB which is only 73%.

Yes this is still a laptop. you wont get great performance on battery power, but that doesn't mean its not a laptop.

The only company I've seen making the DDR5 sodimm 48gb sticks is crucial, which I've not seen PCS supply so you may need to stick with your original plan and upgrade yourself.

I've ordered the exact same setup as you, but I did go for the watercooler, for £128 it seemed worth a try. previous iterations of this laptop have seemed to perform well without it in reviews though, but I didn't see the point of spending so much to get a 5090 without spending a fraction more to ensure I get the most out of it when sat at my desk.

That doesn't mean anything to your configuration. It's just a default layout. Refer to configurator is telling you that it will specify in there if it is relevant (it isn't).

PCS told me the 48gb memory sticks are due in today (10th) but they wouldn't promise me they would have any in stock when the time came to build my laptop despite the fact that I would have paid for it upfront, apparently they don't lay components aside before the time to build. Seems odd to me but I'm sure they know their business better than I do. I just ordered the one stick of 8GB so I could get my order in and I'll check if they have the 48GB sticks in stock when I reach the front of the queue. :).
I'd rather it came fitted have to do it myself.

You can update to the 48GB anytime they're available. I wouldn't wait until you are at the front of the queue. As soon as they are in, add them to your build and that way you will have your place in line for the stock.

Thanks for the advice, The memory is now in stock so I've ordered and paid for it, I also added the 1 year dead pixel warranty just in case because that could be damn annoying :)

When they say I'm 27th in queue for the graphics card that is holding up my order, do they mean for the laptops specifically or for the desktop ones as well as I'd imagine there were more orders from the desktop ones?
