PCSPECIALIST Upgrade advice needed - top mounted cooler blocking DIY RAM upgrade

Also, looks like you might have dust filter in place on the top of the case? If so, remove it, the fans under it are set to exhaust, so you don't need to worry about dust intake, the fans will blow dust out if anything and the dust filter just adds impedance to the exhausted air.

PCSPECIALIST Upgrade advice needed - top mounted cooler blocking DIY RAM upgrade

Yeah easiest option is to just detach the radiator temporarily, by unscrewing the screws at the top of the case (don't unscrew the fans off the radiator in other words). Probably 8 screws total, as it's a 240, so 4 per fan is the norm. Get your helper to hold the radiator while you remove the...

PCSPECIALIST PCSPECIALIST Tornado R9XS Gaming PC - Do I need Aurora crate ?

Yeah some brands are better than others in listing LED numbers. Worse case you could disconnect the fans PWM cable and just leave the RGB cable connected, should allow you to count the LEDs visually without the fan spinning.

PCSPECIALIST PCSPECIALIST Tornado R9XS Gaming PC - Do I need Aurora crate ?

Yep, OpenRGB has good support for Asus motherboards, so be surprised if yours is not supported. The only thing you may need to know is the number of LEDS on each fan. You will need to configure OpenRGB and inform it how many LEDS are connected to the ARGB header. So let's assume each fan has 12...

PCSPECIALIST New PC Freezing and Resetting

AsusFanControlService is probably running and controlling your fan curves for any fans connected to fan headers. So in the absence of any other fan software, you can use it (probably via the Armoury Crate interface) or remove it and just use the BIOS to configure fan curves. As to support...

    PCSPECIALIST Frostflow fan noise

Yes, you're correct, but it will still push as much power (and therefore temps) as it can to get the best performance. This is how the AM5 CPUs work. So having a better cooler will allow it to run at lower noise level, and still keep temps in check.

    PCSPECIALIST Frostflow fan noise

So I'd rate a cooler on three metrics: Thermal performance Acoustic performance Price So you can get coolers (and case fans) that can brute force their way to the top of benchmark charts if measured by thermal performance alone, but this is often at the expense of noise. So a truly great...

PCSPECIALIST PCSPECIALIST Tornado R9XS Gaming PC - Do I need Aurora crate ?

I have that case, the fans that come with it should be connected to RGB header on motherboard so need Armoury Crate or other RGB software to control. But I detest Crate, it's only ever caused me pain, so I use OpenRGB instead. Much simpler application.

    PCSPECIALIST Windows 11 Update

Agree, clean install is the way to go, rather than an in situ update. Be mindful that a clean install will wipe your OS drive, so back up anything important to another drive or cloud first. And worth checking if you need a BIOS update before upgrading to W11. I've a B550 MB and a 5900X, there...

    PCSPECIALIST Frostflow fan noise

I agree that the current cooler is not adequate for a 7900, especially how AM5 CPUs are designed to reach max temp always, they don't operate in the same way as pervious gens. So you need a beefy cooler. I don't think swapping out the existing fans on the cooler will offer sufficient cooling...

PCSPECIALIST Intel WiFi 6 AX600 & BT Smart Hub 2 Full Fibre

If the USB dongle works fine, it would point finger at the existing network card having a hardware or driver issue. Check card is fully seated, and that the antenna's are fully connected, and spread them out into a V shape, I find that helps with signal. Uninstall the network card in Device...

PCSPECIALIST Slow network speeds on my PC

I agree with Spyder, I think a clean install of Windows 10/11 would be good. This video has a good walkthrough of the steps for a clean install of Windows. Note that this will wipe the drive you install Windows to, so make sure you back up anything important to another drive or to cloud before...

    PCSPECIALIST AIO cooler noise

You still need to allow fans to ramp up as coolant temp rises, my point was that the fans should operate at slightly different speeds to avoid resonance. So keep fan B 100 RPM lower than fan A at all times. So if Fan A is 500 RPM, B is 400, if Fan A is 800 RPM, B is 700, if Fan A is 1800 RPM...

    PCSPECIALIST AIO cooler noise

No not at all, the fans are designed to run from 0 RPM up to their max speed, so any RPM between these two limits is fine. I'm hoping that having one fan run slower or faster than the other by a small % will remove the resonance, assuming that is the issue. What I'd do is run Fan 1 at a fixed...

    PCSPECIALIST AIO cooler noise

I suspect the fans are creating a resonance wave between them, one way to break this is to try and get them to run a lot different speeds than one another. Im wondering if you can create two similar but slightly different custom fan curves in iCUE and apply one to each. That way one fan might be...

    PCSPECIALIST AIO cooler noise

Is there a dust filter on the top of case (assuming you have aio top mounted)? Im wondering if fans are just resonating with radiator, and removing filter might alter that in any way? If you remove fans from radiator and run the aio does the noise remain?

    PCSPECIALIST Dual Monitor Setup

I wonder if somehow the iGPU got disabled in the bios? Would seem unlikely though, if all you did was disconnect cables to move PC and then reconnect them. If you had said the GPU wasn't working I would have thought it had gotten knocked in the move. But CPU less likely.

    PCSPECIALIST Dual Monitor Setup

Ok, so just to confirm, if you plug Monitor A with cable 1 into the bottom HDMI, monitor A works? And if you plug Monitor B with cable 2 into bottom HDMI port, it also works? So you're happy no issue with either the monitors or the cables?
