I was pondering VR for Assetto Corsa and Elite - both of which seem to be on the lower end of demanding. I'll have to look into what would be needed a little more carefully though me thinks.
Good info above - thanks Spyder. (y)
Interesting Mr C, thanks!
So, with the current Oculus S you're needing a card that can easily run 1440p on two screen at a consistent 80 FPS or greater I guess??
I can see how any tearing or dropped frames would not be a nice experience when you're moving your head around. 🤢
The Oculus Rift S minimum specs seem to suggest the 2060 would work well - and a few RTX 2060 benchmarks here, admittedly for the older version headset, seem to be relatively usable..... but I'll accede to higher knowledge on this topic ultimately?
So - the PCS M.2's are made by Netac - there is no TBW or warranty info on their site - which is no surprise. However......
I can see that the Netac drives use MLC and TLC technology in their 3D NAND flash depending on which capacity drive your looking at. I still can't tell which drives use...
Brill info @Bigfoot - I have often wondered about the TBW for the PCS drive - I looked up the brand previously and there was a thread here which mentioned which company made them too - I'll look it up again and see what info I can find...... (y)
I spent a year in Manchester in a heatwave. My memory of the weather in that direction is tropical. Is that not correct?
That question has about 20 words but would need at least that many paragraphs to explain properly! :D Suffice to say that you will see 4.6 GHz (actually more like 4.65) for...
Just thinking about this some more - it strikes me as a bit like the Apple scenario - where you invest in tech to keep you going through the years - only for a standard to change which renders everything you have useless.
If you have a big PSU which you have bought for future-proofing, then you...
This might have been discussed already - but just interested to see everyones take on this? The standard 24 pin ATX power connector was to be replaced with a new ATX12V0 connector which has only 10 pins. The idea seems to be to have just a single power supply from the PSU and to allow the...
I don't have the stock cooler @AgentCooper, but do have an 'upgrade' to a lower end tower air cooler with better cooling capability.
@Andy78 - without any overclocking or anything like that - the new Gen Ryzen CPU's naturally boost according to the load they are under, up to a max limit of...
I was reading about some initial info the other day. I'm surprised at the lack of PCIe 5.0 support I must say - even if it was just to be on the X670 boards. Apart from the new CPU's it will just be DDR5 as a new offering over existing chipset series.
Having said that, the potential 25% IPC...
Finally found the surround sound settings. Looking at it I unfortunately think it might make no difference but might still be worth a shot:
Right click on the speaker icon on right side of the taskbar and click "Open Sound Settings"
Then click on "Sound Control Panel"
Then select the playback...
Wasn't there a similar screw up and apology with a launch years ago? Or am I just thinking of the interminable delay in getting Elite: Dangerous up and running in the first place?
