I have tweaked the build slightly, reducing RAM and improving storage. More RAM can be easily added later, if required. I have also included the silver warranty.

The main reason for the Intel build being cheaper is that it only has 8GB of slow RAM compared to 32GB of fast RAM for the AMD build. 8GB isn’t really enough for Photoshop, but you might be OK with 16GB. I would always go for the 5600X over the 10600. The 12th Gen Intel CPUs are powerful, but...
Happy New Year everyone. Like @AgentCooper I have a malt to hand, but mine is a Bowmore (Mrs Bigfoot has a Baileys). 2022 will mark a big birthday for me and I will be starting to think of retirement (a few years away yet, but getting closer). Hopefully COVID-19 will finally diminish so that we...
Just watched Hacksaw Ridge and it was well worth watching. It is a war film with a difference, based on a true story and directed by Mel Gibson.
PS Not one for the squeamish.
I would disable sleep mode. It really isn’t necessary these days. Either leave the PC running, or shut it down and wait s few seconds for it to boot when required.
You would notice a big difference moving from 60Hz to 144Hz. However, the vast majority of the population cannot distinguish any difference much above 120Hz. Therefore, in all likelihood moving to 240Hz will make no difference, except to your bank account.
What is your budget? A 3080 will be wasted on a 1080p monitor, even if you get a 240Hz one. 1080p is really a dying resolution. You would be better off getting a 1440p 144Hz monitor and a 3060Ti or 3070 graphics card. Most people can’t see any difference once the refresh rate goes above about...
I would aim in this direction. This has a more appropriate motherboard, better storage, cooling and PSU. I suggest looking at monitors elsewhere and for 1440p 144Hz not 27“ 1080p. The 3070 is way over the top for 1080p and a 3060Ti will manage 1440p well. You should be able to get a 1440p...
The ‘smoke’ seen from dry ice at concerts is effectively fog caused by moisture being condensed by the very cold CO2 sublimating. Any really cold fluid can cause a lot of ice. The pipe work and valves on LNG / LPG carriers gets quite a thick coating of hard white ice when loading / unloading...
What is your maximum budget? What monitor will you be using (make and model or resolution and refresh rate)? Please include the green configuration link, so that we can suggest some alterations.
Dry ice is just solid Carbon Dioxide. As it warms it will evaporate and become a gas. You would then need a solution to create or supply more. CO2 is heavier than air and toxic in high concentrations. You can also get serious cold burns if you handle it incorrectly. Things will get very wet, as...
The case and cooling are not really adequate for 12th Generation Intel CPUs, which run very hot. The storage is slow by modern standards and you really should be using M.2 SSDs over SATA. The selected WiFi card is out of date and not supported in W11. Silver warranty is well worth the extra £5...
What will you be using the PC for? What monitor will you be using (make and model or resolution and refresh rate)? What is your budget? The 11th generation Intel CPUs were not good. The RAM, storage, cooling, PSU and WiFi card are not ideal. You don’t need a separate sound card nowadays as the...
