I’ve got the older 512GW, and found it picky with the choice of cable (would only works with the provided cable). But if that same cable is working on the laptop then it should be fine in the PC.
Because the ‘fix’ was to hobble the CPU because a microcode update cannot fix their manufacturing issue…but you’re obviously an expert, and don’t really want our advice, so I’ll leave you to it.
Can’t help with your ask, but my problem is I’ve watched so many over the last 40 years that they’ve all become jumbled in my memory.
I can’t remember whether something specific happened in Sympathy for Mr Vengeance or in Old Boy or in Lady Vengeance or Ichi the Killer or Azumi or As The Gods...
It’s not Cillian Murphy in the trailer, it’s me after my juice cleanse.
But I hope the film has more of the 28 Days Later style than the trailer (looks more like Walking Dead).
Are they all targeting 60fps because 1) the game doesn’t benefit from high FPS, 2) because they want it to look like a console game, or 3) because they’re trying to save energy by running the CPU and GPU at <50%?
I'm normally the person on the project running through test cases and trying to compile user guides for each user type as they're changing the system
With the cooler you've got you couldn't go above a 14600 without upgrading the cooler, as the xx700/xx900 CPUs haver severe throttling issues when they get hot.
If you're not comfortable with PCs, you'd have to return the PC for it to be upgraded anyway...and the 750W RMe model would cover you...
It depends what's causing the fans (which ones?) to speed up.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is very resource heavy, so it could be GPU or CPU that needs upgrading...but there's only really spare power in that 550W PSU for a CPU upgrade (a GPU upgrade would require at least a 750W PSU - and due to...
I've got lots of thoughts, but don't know if they'll help you as we've got no idea what you want to use the PC for.
If it's just gaming then the CPU is not the best choice. If it's for 50/50 gaming/rendering then I'd wait and get the 9900X3D or 9950X3D. If it's just for rendering then the 9950X...
We can be a bit harsh with our opinions on here, but we're harsh because we don't want people to buy something that's out of date within a year, or can't be upgraded easily.
However, we get lots of flack for telling people that they can't get a gaming PC for £1000 or £1200 or £1400 (or more...
Your upgrade options are limited because you bought what we'd call 'throwaway' PC. I'm assuming it was it a pre-built/next day/Currys option, as no-one on here would have configured that (very low spec considering this is only 12 months old).
Basic PSU with no headroom for a beefier GPU or CPU...
Can you imagine an Easyjet or Ryanair turkey
Legs extra, stuffing extra, giblets extra, feather-removal extra, anything over 2.5KG is £50 extra.
