Is the laptop model Octane III the one you have tested?
This is on the Vyper III.
Essentially I changed this in the Gaming Center .ini installation file, before running the executable to install it:
BatteryCalibration = 0 (change the value to 1).
I don't even know what it was meant for, but...
Do you believe me If I say I've just discovered an hidden function in the Gaming Center to... limit the battery charge? o_O:love:
I've been playing a little bit lately with it and I'm discovering interesting things.
I think I'm going to open a dedicated thread about this feature.
I hope so.
They should start customising (and optimising) a little bit more their bioses, as it start to fall short in terms of optimisation and features compared to competition.
If it's up to the reseller to customise the Control Center and the bios, I've very few hope it will happen with the PCS one, as I've seen the Gaming center and the BIOS from PCS are the less customised and feature rich compared to other brands so far.
I really like PCS products and I'm a happy...
Hi all,
hope you're doing good.
It's 5 months since I've got my PCS Vyper III and it's a beast of machine.
I consider it a wild horse, so it isn't for everyone. Need a little of tuning to get the best performance without "melting" (it can get very hot) the machine with deliberate squeezing of...
Hi!
The feature you mentioned is very useful and it should be a must in modern systems.
I wish it was on the Vyper.
However it isn't just a software that manages the battery charge.
It has to be implemented at hardware and UEFI/BIOS level and, of course, it costs money to design and implement in...
Nope, it shouldn't be that high. The one you are referring is probably System Idle Process in the Task Manager, not in Performance Monitor.
My Performance Monitor window as example.
Thank you very much. From what I see everything seems okay.
You should fire up the Task Manager in Details tab or Processes to check if there's anything that spike the CPU usage, as soon as you encounter any slowdowns.
Sometimes website and streaming video could be slower than usual, and that...
Hi,
did you try installing just one DIMM module, trying each single module on each memory slot?
Try this and check if the system boots.
If your SSD is shown on UEFI/BIOS you need to partition and format your SSD, by using the dedicated tool in Windows 10.
Use the Disk Management tool to check...
Hi,
I'd like to help to understand what's wrong with your system.
Could you please post a screenshot of your task manager, in Processes tab sorting by CPU usage?
And Details tab as well, sorting as above by CPU usage.
Exactly, @SpyderTracks, that was what I saying.
I didn't know what the term doubleshot was referring to so I did some research.
Essentially, apart from the manufacturing process which is much better as there's no printing and the key are molded between two pieces, the material is different...
I agree with you, I was talking in general about endurance of these kind of coatings and not referring to your specific case.
I have several devices with this kind of coating (called "touch", which is kind of soft rubbery) and they need special care to made them last.
Oil from skin is generally...
This morning I've sent a detailed email describing the issues, with some pictures attached.
I didn't request the RMA so far as I prefer to have a feedback from PCS before requesting it.
Hope I'll receive good news in the next days.
I'll keep you updated. Thank you to everyone who spent some...
Thank you for your feedback about customer service!
Yeah, I'm aware about the difficult situation we are in all of us, so I will be patient.
I wrote an email to PCS about something not related to tech support a week ago and the automated reply told me they have a lot of going on.
I've got my...
Hi all,
I've just finished reading the whole thread, pretty bad experience, very annoying.
Owning a 15.6" Vyper III laptop since August I wonder if even this model suffers from already known cyclic faults in general.
Do anyone know anything about the 15.6" model?
Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately this isn't the first laptop here with this issue
Sorry for the issue.
I think the main fault is how they are designed and manufactured.
The keys are mainly transparent and then they are painted with a touch material and that's it (at least on the Vyper III).
There is no...
No worries Barlew, I was genuinely happy knowing you work in the IT field, as I really miss that work environment.
In my area at that time there wasn't too much occasions to grow up professionally in that field so I had to leave it for another kind of job.
English isn't my native language so I...
Glad to know you're an IT certified professional!
So we share some real work experience here.
Thank you for sharing your experience with PCS customer support.
Just to be clear, I'm not pointing my finger towards PCS, it could be a fault coming directly from the manufacturer (TongFang) or...
Hi Barlew, it's 5 months old.
I would have sent it back too but I preferred to keep it with those faults as I needed it for work, due to the fact my previous daily driver, a Surface Book 1st gen, was too slow to cope with the heavy workflow I've been throwing at it.
Since then I didn't stop...
Sorry for that as well, seems it was an unlucky unit.
There's some bleed on mine as well, although it's limited to the bottom part and it isn't very big.
I'm quite picky on these kind of things, so it was acceptable in my case, otherwise I'd send it back, as I use it for content creation...
