I think what you said about different performance on laptop compared to desktop is right, but my knowledge is limited as well.
I don't have any direct experience with GPU laptop and desktop equivalent.
However the 1060 was the bare minimum to play VR, sometimes there were some side effects such...
Hi @Nursemorph, thanks for your reply!
I totally forgot to specify the budget, sorry. Ideally, I woudn't go above 1500£.
To have a comparison I've been playing VR on a desktop GTX 1060 6GB (+135Mhz Core overclock) with a i7 3930K (stock frequencies) and I was happy with performance, but Super...
Yep, I saw it was very specific to Thunderbolt and not a simple USB-C data adapter.
I've found on Amazon a very good one made by Cable Matters.
Before buying it I have to decide which PCS' laptop I'll purchase
I opened a dedicated thread about that.
I was looking for the same info, as I'm a Rift S owner and I was afraid about incompatibility with it.
So seems I just need a USB-C type Thunderbolt 3 with female Display Port adapter.
As I'm unable to edit the main post, I'm adding this here:
- fan noise: I prefer to have a laptop that could be quiet during normal light operations, such as Office usage, web browsing and Youtube videos but if it's a bit loud while gaming as well as while working isn't an issue for me; compute...
Hi everybody,
I'm new in the PCSpecialist community as I've discovered recently this amazing brand and its products.
The ability to customise your own computer for your needs is totally awesome!
As I've already seen reading through various threads this community is amazing and I'm very happy to...
That is the power management icon and has nothing to do with brightness adjustment.
The slider on the battery pop-up is to choose the power scheme for your laptop, which in case you select the battery saver mode, just dim the brightness to save battery.
Brightness adjust has always been in the...
Yep, basically it's two cameras, the normal webcam in conjunction with a stealthy IR camera which allows to recognise you even in low light situations.
Usually if there's a dedicated IR Camera the system should be compatible with Windows Hello ;-)
And you can train it to recognise you both with...
Sorry for that, probably I should have explained it better 😅
It was so flawless that it makes you forgot about that feature 😁
That's great that it has a IR Camera @deathbyspork!
I have it on my Surface Book and I would have missed it.
On PCS website there wasn't any mention about that, so I was...
Hi deathbyspork! Thank you for your message.
It seems a very good customer experience from what I've been reading here and on the web and delivery time is very fast considering the actual situation.
It's a very reasonable time from the order to delivery. I've read other posts where some users...
Hi! Thanks for the lighting fast reply.
That's very good to know and a very rare possibility with laptops nowadays.
That's really a big pro for me.
Luckily I've some experience in PC maintenance so it shouldn't be an issue.
Thanks again for your reply!
Hi!
Thank you for sharing your experience and nice choice!
I'm actually considering to buy the Vyper III 15 but the 17" is quite interesting as well, but I've to understand better the whole footprint, as I've never had a 17" laptop and I'm used to portability.
I'd go for the 15" to stay safe...
