I can understand the sentiment but when you do the reinstall, I would suggest at least for a time not reinstalling Bullguard. Give it time to ensure there are no other underlying issues.
I would also take a look at what you have starting with Windows.
Start Task Manager (one way is to hit ctrl+ shift + escape) and then click on the Startup tab.
It will list items with their impact.
EDIT: Ah my bad...I hadn't noticed Ubuysa had already told you to try this.
I am afraid that is plain wrong with a PCS system - even if one is ordered without Windows, it'll have an unlicensed copy installed for burn-in testing, so upon arrival it should still boot to Windows. Under that scenario, we always suggest a full reinstall because it won't be system-optimised...
Yeah reinstall Windows.
This crops up occasionally here - when you buy a system from PCS without an operating system, it gets a completely unoptimised OS installed purely for testing.
That means it's possibly got old, wrong or even missing drivers. It will, in all likelihood have "ghost"...
I was answering this as I was on my way to the pub, via my hairdresser... oh... wait...
You strike me as incredibly unaware of what is going on around you! Most of Europe has been locked down. The UK has been closed. It has been far from business as usual, yet some folks seem to think that...
This.
Also from what others are saying, it seems like PCS might have staff working through the night to catch up on their backlog.
Maybe speak to PCS and ask them nicely, considering the obvious delays due to COVID, if they'd consider extending the warranty by two whole weeks.
To be fair...
This is a very grey - and to my mind very dodgy - area. The keys you can buy cheap are often not being sold as e.g. first sale OEM keys but have been taken from existing systems. Depending on the type of key that may initially work and you'll be fine or not work at all, or may work initially...
I came to this thread a bit late but I agree with Ubuysa - for the effort it takes to get the cloning software up and running on a brand new build, I'd have suggested just installing Windows from scratch on the SSD.
@abssorb - Is the use case just to add additional screens?
Perhaps if you could post your spec as delivered, and what it is you want to use it for, we can offer some more detailed advice
As an aside you know you can adjust the volume* of the microphone? That is to say how loud it sounds at the other end? Look under settings - system - sound
Windows says volume but it really means a combination of the sensitivity of the pickup and the gain.
