I did a thread like this a while back, but couldn't find it, so it was probably wayyyy too far back to necro!
To paraphrase comedy legend Jesse from The Fast Show, "this month I'are mostly playing..."
Hogwarts Legacy
Redfall
Romancelvania
With it being October, I wanted to play something a little spookier than I usually do, while also trying to clear some of the more than 1,100 games that are in my active backlog - ie games I've started, but not finished.
I finished Hogwarts Legacy's story (for the first time), a while back but haven't got around to getting all the collectables, or done the shortened playthroughs with the other houses to get the game 100% completed. That should be happening this month!
Redfall features vampires, so is very much a potential Halloween-type game. I've played the opening hour or so, and can see why the game came in for criticism, but having picked the game up on heavy sale since the final update was released, I do think I'll get decent value for money from my time with the game in October.
Fighting vampires is all well and good, but how about playing as THE vampire? Romancelvania is a dating sim/platformer featuring Dracula. It places Drac into a TV-dating show and has gone out of its way to be tongue-in-cheek and more than a little absurd. It's not scary, but more lightly creepy and so will probably be what I'll play towards the end of the month as a palate cleanser heading into November.
