No thank you. I hear they're bad for your eyes (assuming with extreme usage) but rather not take the chance with my 11 yr old. 😜
Is now a good time to share that I studied ophthalmic dispensing? Whilst I’ve been out of the field for a while now I’m a trained lens geek and can confirm that VR would have no ill effects on your eyes. There were some huge rumours years ago that the Nintendo 3DS would cause your children to have lazy eyes and all sorts of visual issues. All rubbish.

Without pre-existing ocular conditions, the human eye has done pretty much all the developing it needs to by the age of seven. And kids under that age who played on the 3DS… no problems reported in the optical world!

But for the purposes of saving your bank account, I’m happy to sanction you telling your child that VR will make their eyes fall out 🙂👍

That's too rich for my blood.

Will probably go with the LG 27GL850-B. Just wish it was curved as probably offer a better experience on MSFS2020.

I have a 27GL850, great monitor, LG have a nice curved model or two, the LG 35WN65C looks good for the money, *only* 100Hz though

I'm a huge fan of the LG Nano IPS models, they are far better than their cost would suggest, amazing value.

Thanks @AgentCooper. That's probably a bit too big and I'm assuming wouldn't be suitable for everyday (non gaming) use?
I own an AOC 34 inch screen and it’s transformed my computing experience. I play a fair bit of American Truck Sim and added field of view is great. When I want to play a shooter, I’ve got extra peripheral vision, I tried Total War Warhammer on it the other day and the battlefields looked incredible. When I’m doing day to day stuff I can snap two separate screens to each side of the monitor. I can critique potential builds on the PCS forum in one window and have YouTube or my work emails open in the other.

It's more suitable for non gaming use because you have larger pixel ratio to work in, so you can have more windows open at the same time.
Ahhh I see. I do have a brand new, still in the box Lenovo Thinkvision T25m-10 that I got from work for <ahem> WFH. I'm thinking maybe I can pair that up with the LG 27GL850 and he can use this monitor to pop out certain controls from the cockpit etc which I believe is possible. Where is @Scott when you need him?

I think he's in his motion enabled simulator seat, that's no joke, this is his setup :)
