I get a few a day, but they go straight to spam, and I just review them every week to see if there's any false positives.
This week it's mainly been "Norton product expiring", "McAfee product expiring", "VirusTotal product expiring" or such, and they all claim I'll lose all my files if I don't click the link to renew
Unfortunately, I feel sorry for those in the community who don't realise these obvious fake emails are just that
Here's today's one, from a Brazilian server via Russian gmail equivalent email account...
We also have a system for business emails where we can just click the 'report' button and it gets sent to an email defence team to investigate and add to their global spam/junk/phishing filters.
But had a 'polite' reply from them one day telling me the email purportedly from our boss, all the signs of being a phishing email:
From an untrusted external email address ✔️
Not addressing you by you proper/full name ✔️
Asking you to click a link and sign-up for something ✔️
Poor spelling & grammar ✔️
Seems it was in fact from our boss (via an external comms agency), and they quickly got that comms agency added to our whitelist...but not seen anything from them since
