I have to admit I do want to go back on it right now!

Np mate, i am absolutely gutted not been on for a few weeks so decided to update all the latest patches and my 11 days of survival and all my gear has been reset so starting from scratch not bad only took me 5 minutes to find a Lee Enfield and 2 mags for it and i can't believe you don't have a water bottle or a tin of beans at the start, anyway for an Alpha it's good and stable.

Probably being a simpleton...but where from? I went to DayZ site and I got a message about torrents etc...which seemed odd for a mod?

You can also install it manually if you don't want to use that auto installer from where you saw the torrent choice it also has the D/L servers where it gives you the seperate files.

Using a Lee it's a bit like ringing the dinner bell and the game being so difficult is what makes it so different from everything else out there and none of the kiddies doing a drop from a building with a 720 noscope hahahaha makes it even better, the problems appear later on when you do get something good that you do not want to lose thats when you think do i really want to go into the town is someone watching me waiting to ambush me.......

Its cause servers are down atm, you need top manually enter ip addresses etc. this is the server im on atm 199.116.118.132:2322

Think you will find you need to click on the bottom left button on the server selection screen to change it from Lan to Internet as the servers are back up and running now.

Joined a US server and it was nice and light...wondered round a bit, not really sure what controls there were beyond WASD, then got chased about 2 miles down the coast line I spawned next to by Zombie Usain Bolt!

I can see the appeal, but going to need time to get into it and actually see some other people or a gun (melee weapons DEFINITELY need to go into the final mod!)

There are melee weps atm, you can use the hatchet as one

You're pretty much guaranteed to get hit by a zomb when using a mellee weapon, as you have to get so close

On a diff note, i just found an M24 sniper, 2 murders so far Don't come near Elektro!

I had a double barrel earlier, some person with a revolver came and killed me cause i missed my first shot, then had to wait for the 2nd Got obscenities thrown my way too Nearly cried

I always look for a US server thats GMT -8 if i am playing at evening or night time.

If you enter a building or go up some stairs that slows them down or go on the docks if your near any they get very confused around there.

Make sure you do the proper tutorials for ARMA2 as you will learn all the basics you need to get you started from there.

Still got my 1866 with 60 shots got a 200 rnd m249 mag in backpack, Just gave my mate an AKM. Such tense stuff going through elecktro! Retiring for tonight!
