Further in depth article on overclocking of FE card (using custom hybrid cooler). Highlights thermal cutout temp of around 82/83 degrees which coincides with just over 2000mhz clocks (using reference cooler). I don't know how nVidia got their 2.1Ghz overclock in their Demo, must have been a dedicated GPU cooler within the case or something, can't have just been the reference card on it's own.

Then, with this in mind, here's a custom air cooler add on for the FE edition of GTX1080 and 1070...

That's Nvidia's claim specifically for VR:

In general gaming it's often, say, 20% faster, but you can google any number of benchmarks :)

Opinions on the UK pricing? It's a bit better than I expected

$700 = ~£485 + 20% VAT + 4.7% import tax (from China, so may be different) = ~£605 and actual price is £620. Was expecting £650-680 if I'm honest.

Well, I think you're right, I'm glad it's not too much over the standard conversion, I'm still perplexed as to why nvidia priced the FE cards so high, will be interesting to see if the aftermarket cards are actually $100 cheaper. Is anyone going to get one or wait for the aftermarket oc cards? Think I'll be waiting for an EVGA card personally.

I'll be waiting for the full release and AMDs cards. Think AMD may pull out something impressive and they tend to be happy to undercut their competitors in price, which may also force Nvidia to drop their prices. So would be good news all round.

That's pretty good if its the 480X, the guy also said in the comments that there is another similar card listed in wherever they got their info from that has more cores to it so probably the 490, which should at least compete with the 980 Ti, possibly more. Then there will probably be a 490x somewhere too.

I know this is a Nvidia graphics card thread but as we are on the subject of new products:

The slide above says that Zen will offer double the performance of the FX-8350 which could potentially put it well above the i7 6700k which is around 60% faster than the FX-8350. Which would be good news all round if it forces Intel to up their game too!
