Great, BF4 beta big disappointment and now it's looking like I won't even be giving GTA Online a go. And then I found out United play tomorrow night in the champs league rather than tonight.

Did you really expect to able to smoothly play the online mode on its launch day?
Fortunately I'm only a third of the way through the single player game. I do expect the online to have settled down by the time I finish single player.

I would have assumed they'd release a beta version to at least give the servers a good go at hosting so many games rather than releasing a product that can potentially corrupt somebody's game files. Far enough if there's problems in a beta as people choose to play them and are aware that there may be issues. For somebody that doesn't follow all the latest news online though they might just play the Online aspect because it says all over their xbox homepage that it's been released and then end up losing all their progress none the wiser.
I'm not saying I'd expect it to be smooth on the first day, I'm just saying it seems like a rookie mistake to flick a switch on and suddenly have millions of people playing on your servers for the first time.
Played 10mins of GTA Online this morning and did the opening race mission.
I should of bet more on myself as I won by 10 seconds, everyone was trying to force each other off the road so I held back until they caused a big pileup and then just drove off
Someone bet $2400 on themselves and lost, I only bet $200 on myself I should have had more confidence in myself
Got my PCS shirt on in game, so maybe we should set up a sticky thread a new thread for the gang?
And yes DM, I got your steam message a while ago, I do have GTA5 on PS3 now as I had to go buy a new PS3 just for it (Mine had yellow light of death but played video files fine but shut down playing games for longer than 5mins)
Got a good deal too.. £199.99 for GTA5 500gb PS3 Super Slim + The last of Us. 3hours to transfer data to new PS3 from old and I am back in business

A game is in the marketplace of video games, in which there is no lack of competition between developers. On a platform a game is in a highly competitive marketplace, and if it is not a platform it is not in competition at all on that platform. I don't think a manufacturer can be prosecuted under competition law for having no involvement in a market sector.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rockstar really took their time on a PC release.
If the graphic improvements are up to snuff I think the game would be as successful on PC in 2015 as 2014. And they could make all sorts of changes that the consoles weren't capable of delivering.

This whole GTA V PC release date thing has proven you can't trust half of what you read on the internet until something is confirmed - just seems to be endless rumor and speculation reported as fact! Must of read what seems like 5 or 6 different "confirmed" dates by now.
A PC and Xbone/PS4 version will come though, it would be madness for them not to. I guess they just want to eek every last penny out of 360/PS3 sales before they port it over. I would imagine that's why it's taking so long, the higher quality assets etc. will already exist and have been scaled down for the consoles. Seriously hope the port is a better effort than GTA IV was though, hopefully the long wait will be worth it.
