Hmm... not a 10/10 game so far. I was led to believe that the driving had been completely overhauled and improved but it still feels very twitchy. But, good fun nonetheless about an hour in, I think I just built it up too much reading all the perfect reviews.

Also, am I the only one who isn't all that impressed by the graphics? I suppose they're good... for a 7 year old games console, but I think I've just been spoilt by playing PC games for the last 6 months...

I think they will release on PC and PS4/XboxOne - that's when the graphics will really come into their own. Like you say - it's constrained by the 7 year old games console!

Yeah I wasn't impressed either. But then I think the sheer size of the game on a 7 yr old console - they must of had to compromise with the graphics.

Woah woah woah slow down there chappos.

This thread is about GTAV, a great new PC ga...uhm console game played by millions of console monkeys the world over, that are mugged into thinking consoles are actually the best.

It has nothing to do with a mobile/tablet operating system that millions of idiots use the world over, that are mugged into thinking Apple is actually the best.

...

I've resorted in trying to get further away from the television just to make to look better.

If you squint your eyes it makes the AA better but at a risk to resolution.

The driving becomes natural a couple of hours in. As I said a few pages back, the first two cars you drive are extremely twitchy and not beginner-friendly (for one, the truck at the start is on ice!). Once you find normal cars it's absolutely fine.

The story only really comes into its own 3 or 4 hours in so expect it to get better, I was disappointed at the start as well but now really enjoy it.

And like I said, the graphics are a bit pants but I do believe that's mildly to do with us being used to PC graphics. I've been compared it to Sleeping Dogs in my head and there is no comparison when it comes to AA and shadows. GTA looks extremely cartoony compared to it. Saying that though, both my brother and dad who have never played a decent PC game think GTA looks amazing like all the 'high definition textures' of the road... I couldn't really understand what they were talking about :|

One thing i noticed is that switching between characters take a long time. is that only because my guys are so far apart?

Hmm, yeah... good point, you just reminded me about that. I've only done it two or three times so far but is supposed to take that long to switch? Zooming out and then in again on the map with multiple google-earth like screenshots taking over 10 seconds? Surely there's a button you can press to skip the google earth animation bits? Or do you literally have to sit through that cr@p every time?!

I believe you have to sit through it everytime although from what I've seen it depends on their distance away from each other so when you use them on missions together later on it should be a lot quicker.

Just think of it like a loading screen.. you're changing to a completely different character who has moved since you last used them and it needs to load up all inventory, properties, storyline, etc. It's only annoying because it's not a typical load screen like on Skyrim where you walk through a door and have to wait for 5 seconds to get through it.

Edit: Plus it's not really a common activity once you get going. I tend to use each character until I can no longer do any more missions with them. Normally the game forces me onto a different character if it needs to. (I think I'm right about the distance thing as when you do your first heist you swap between Michael and Franklin and it's instantaneous).

It looks cool when it happens though, its a great touch, i dont think i would like to see a GTA without it.

Its awesome when you switch and Michael is just verbally laying into some guy.

Same as CoD (not putting GTA in the same category exactly) in that there is so much hype and "everyone buys it"...where a good deal of people just buy it because they think they should (i.e. kids not wanting to be left out!)...and really has nothing to do with the game.

That isn't to say it isn't good, but the motivation behind it taking £500m in one day is not based on the quality :) (see Avatar :D )
