Throwing medi packs and ammo on this game is hilarious. My 2 year old nephew can throw better than that.

That's only for the starter ones mate, once you unlock proper Med bags and Ammo bags it's a lot more 'realistic' :D I thought the same at first... Wondered what the heck my guy was doing.

Ah. Didn't realise that there are different levels of those. It looks so stupid though, aim at the floor 2 feet in front of me and it goes above my head and 20 feet away.

Played the game last night for the first time in a few weeks and still finding it frustrating.

Im sure they will fix the games flaws soon. In fairness to DICE they do usually listen when people ask for fixes. I think they've stopped work on all DLC until they have fixed the base game. Personally I never had much of a problem with the game as I was playing on console (Xbox 360) of course the game can be a bit much for the outdated hardware sometimes causing freezes but it is refreshingly crash free at least. I think we can probably expect the game to be completely fixed by new year. Minus the net code issues of course. Those will never be fixed.

It awards you stuff like weapon accessories, camos and emblem symbols. Some of the weapon accessories can really come in handy, you'll get battlepacks throughout the game when you level up at certain levels.

anyone of you bf4 players tried disabling cpu parking? I've read it gives a performance increase on bf4.

What is CPU parking? Not heard of that before.
Tried the game earlier and was still pretty disappointed with performance so I could probably be tempted.

This might help a little
if you wanna turn it off, best to do it via the registry not with additional programs.
edit, just realised you have an I5, so windows 7 might not "park" any of your cores... but it does with I7's and the threads.

Its a made up terminology. It does nothing.

lol hahah, I thought that, although there are many users stating then opposite. Many for BF4 in fact.

What performance issues are people getting? It seems to run fine for me, all the problems are server side or to do with the game itself or Origin (crashes etc).

Same here, only server sided issues, actual frames per second figures are absolutely fine.

I have been trying to install China Rising for about 5 days though and it still hasn't finished (so much for me paying for early access!). Really haven't had any time at my PC during the last few weeks... Looking to buy Corsair SP2500's to relight my fire...

My Laptops performance has been amazing, i thought the game would have killed it but getting amazing performance.

Same can be said about my in game performance but im getting better.

Noticed my squadies (all 4 of them) hiding behind a building throwing paper airplanes yesterday, looked like they were upto no good.

That UCAV is absolutely ridiculous, people just camping in uncap spamming with mobile bombs. DICE really buggered up with that one.

The other day when I played I was only getting about 40fps.
I played it just now and although my FPS was up around 100 (I have a 144hz monitor) whenever I went outside the background was flickering.

All I keep hearing is that BF4 is like a map pack for BF3. If that actually is the case then I'm definitely having problems with bullets registering or something because everytime I go on BF3 I get big scores and high K : D and everytime I go on BF4 I get small scores and low K : D.

hmm, I do agree with you Bigben, it does look like a map pack for bf3. They do look pretty much exactly the same, although I find the feel between bf3 and bf4 is massively different. BF4 being more like medal of honor than bf3.

Even from my limited time with BF3 it does feel different, can't quite figure out what it is though. Maybe it's the pacing of the gameplay, the terrible matchmaking and team balancing makes for some very one sided games.

As for the maps some of them actually feel pretty similar, especially a few of the buildings.

From my experience there are still some framerate issues from time to time, with adaptive v-sync off I know it can run at 80-90fps no problem, yet occasionally it will dip into the 30s and 40s for no apparent reason, and it definitely isn't an issue my end.

Still having problems actually getting into a game sometimes, back home home as well now with an internet connection I know is absolutely fine. The server browser itself is terrible, makes it look like hardly any games are full all the time even when you sort by players. The matchmaking feature like the one from consoles actually works better most of the time, on a blockbuster PC game!!!

Only reason I bought it was to play with a mate and so far we've been unable to play togeather, the server search was unable to find the server I was on when he tried to join (Corsair #1 - an established one!) and when we tried another the join feature wasn't working and he kept timing out. Again, his PC and connection are fine. Also why isn't there a proper squad lobby for joining a game, it's supposed to be an AAA title!! Pretty sure BF3 had a way of doing that. Even COD supports custom lobbies...

I don't know what game you guys are playing but I really don't get why you're having so many issues/negative opinions of the game :saddam:

I genuinely enjoy 4 a lot more than I enjoyed 3 for so many reasons. The servers are better, the maps are better, the guns seem better. BF3 just turned into CQC servers and not a lot else; you can't deny it. We would join servers night after night that played the same flippin maps on the same flippin "3000 TIX CQC NUBZ RULE" servers and you'd just spend hours mindlessly throwing grenades down a corridor or spraying your gun without even really having a tactical objective. Then we'd join a proper server with vehicles and teamplay required but then you'd hate it because it was too slow and you'd be getting pwned by vehicles and would be getting scores 6 from 6 instead of 60 from 60.

I dunno, I guess it's all personal opinion. I just find 9 out of 10 maps on BF4 to be decent ones where people actually have decent battles, even the big vehicles ones. I was on a couple of new ones with Booz last night and I thought they were great fun despite being quite large.

I'd say give it another go but I think your minds are already made up :)

As for the joining squad thing, I've never had issues joining a friends game and quickly jumping into their squad (unless it was full). I'd heard if you invite your friend to the server then it will do its best to get you on the same team and squad. Sounds like one of you may have a strict NAT type or something? :\

They were good games they were mate, it makes all the difference when you're playing as a squad going for objectives. The CR maps are quite large, Salt Road is a bit iffy as it's mainly wide open desert and if you're not in a vehicle you're a sitting duck more often than not and it takes skill just to stay alive. It's good for picking off vehicles with a SRAW though as long as you keep moving. My least favourite map of the pack.
Altai Range (the one where you shot that bloke whose tags I was just about to take  ) is a good map, vast and good for vehicles and infantry alike, get your act together on that map and you really can rack up some points. Another good one for SRAW and mine kills.
Dragon Pass is another massive one and very vehicle orientated, infantry can take a long time just to get to each objective but the timer tends to take a lot longer to run down on this one due to how vast it is.
Guilin Peaks is infantry based with a few choppers sprinkled in along with quads and dirt bikes. Quick flag captures and plenty of kills. A good map to utilise the XM25 Airburst on.
