Everyone hates BF4, but it is the law that you either play BF or CoD, and lets face it, lesser of two evils doesnt even really cover it does it :)

Is anyone having problems with the service stars not giving you xp? and also not adding to the battlelog, it's like 26 on battle log and then 28 in game etc?

I'm having issues with promotions. I'm getting promotions with exp at the end of games i.e. from the bonus 2x but then when I start the next round and play for 5 minutes the same promotion pops up. Can't tell if it's just a bug with the 2x or whether it's something more serious.

The incorrect totalling of XP is a common issue -- it happens to me on each round. You can check by watching the scores count up at the end of a round and then click on the 'progression' tab at the top right of the screen - the total XP you see totalling up is always more than the XP you see on the Progression tab. Most common thoughts are ribbons are not counting, but whatever the issue there are definitely problems in the scoring. Another minor bug to add in to the mix.

Despite the issues I'm enjoying the game. Been playing on 300 ticket 32 player TDM servers recently and having fun. Games last 15 to 20 minutes and are busy without being nuts.

lol, i thought you hated bf3?

Nah that's cos you didn't have patient to show me how to play but Grimezy did :)

I am enjoying the game, bought premium today but still learning. Anyone knows how to use a 2nd monitor for maps?

No! But I tell myself everyday at work that I am going to try and do it when I get home...then forget and only remember about lunchtime the next day...and so on :D

That reminds me, I must try and set up the 2nd monitor map thingy on BF4 later on...

Drag the Battlelog over to the screen you want to view the map on, then as you're joining a game you'll see a blue bar pop up at the bottom, click 'Battle scene' and away you go :) It takes some fiddling as if the game hasn't loaded enough it will come up with an error and I've had it sometimes where it's switched tabs during a game meaning I can't control my player but suddenly have a mouse cursor on the browser.

Works well though once you get it going, I always hit F11 to get the browser in full-screen mode so that it's a little bit clearer!

This is my setup, only a naff secondary monitor but does the trick:

Shame the beer mats empty :)

I'll give it a bash too, there was a tablet app called Battlefield 4 commander or something, anyone use that?

That is nice, definitely trying it tonight. I need some help learning how to take on tanks and other bits that are probably obvious to most of you...well at least I am not getting stabbed at the back as often as before :turned:

Yea it's a great feature for beginners as the mini-map just doesn't give you enough bearings to know where the action is happening whereas with a big map on a secondary screen you know exactly where you are and where you need to get to. Gimme a shout if you have any problems setting it up :)

As for taking on tanks, a lot of it is just down to luck or co-ordination. You can either be an engineer and use rockets, aim for the sides or the backs (never head-on) and hope a team mate chips in to take it down in twice the time. You can kill them alone but it takes a lot of luck and a poor tank driver. Once you unlock RPG's you'll find it a bit easier than the starter rockets. Or you can use anti-tank mines to defend a base or something, most tank drivers are wise to this though.

Alternatively, go recon and use c4's, suicide run up to vehicles, throw a couple of c4's on them, try to get clear and blow it, if you can't get clear take yourself out with them :D

Try and get in vehicles yourself as often as possible though, it's actually quite easy to rack up kills in a tank or LAV.

There's a massive amount of AA weapons in BF4. Stingers are pretty much available from the start and air vehicles have super slow flare reload times, there's also loads of AA vehicles, etc. I personally don't think I've ever been killed by a jet, and if I have it's been because I'm standing in broad daylight on the roof of a skyscraper.

Choppers are still a bit of a pain but not majorly so, it's normally only really 'Little Birds' that cause a lot of problems to infantry.

Naturally Air vehicles are still pretty effective against tanks (as you would expect them to be). Saying that, I've taken down 2 or 3 choppers now with my tank turret as they've try to do a fly-by on me so it's not majorly difficult to defend yourself!
