Another crash for me today while I was having a quality round in Siege of Shanghai on CL. It's really bugging me now, couldn't even get back in TS ballsed up again. I keep getting the Origin 'Already Logged In' message, you'd think they'd have a fully functional system by now or is that just too much to ask for?

I tend to avoid Siege of Shanghai as I can't even remember the last time I completed a game on it without crashing. I try to avoid Golumud Railway as well because of the stupid amount of sound issues, etc.

Really starting to want the first expansion pack to come out soon as my list of enjoyable maps are rapidly growing thin... I only really like playing Zavod 311, Operation Locker and Flood Zone..

Still not found these issues. I did have an annoying glitch on the pacific map. The smoke was strobing but a re log solved that.

I was gonna pick this up start of December once my pre-christmas assignments are done but after hearing so many mixed messages I'm not sure now. I really don't like using any other client apart from Steam, only knows it took me long enough to accept that.

Also I'd love somebody from EA to explain why the Digital copy is £10 cheaper on Amazon than it is on the Origin store.

Issues are mostly sorted now, really nothing game-breaking about them and you'd be a bit daft to skip out on such a good game over a couple of launch issues.

Origin really isn't that bad either :)

Just wondering Grimezy, have you been back on these maps and have they been patched?

Good to know, I'll probably get it. But I really wish EA wasn't DICE's publisher. :D

To be honest I've still been avoiding Siege of Shanghai. Apparently it only happens to a few random people whenever the skyscraper is destroyed. I think it's a lot better but haven't really given it enough of a go to comfortably say "yes, it works 100% of the time now". The map isn't the best in the world anyway so no major biggie :) I've still experienced a couple of sound issues on 1 or 2 maps where basically all sound apart from your own soldiers cuts off i.e. you can still hearing your gunfire, your vehicle engine, etc, just nothing else. I imagine this is on their list of things to do but is only intermittent anyway so not game-breaking.

I know what you mean but really I can't see how it would have been any different with a different publisher. The game may have been delayed for more extensive beta testing but then they still would have had launch bugs.

And then people say EA try and rip everybody off by charging a fortune for their games and DLC; I personally wouldn't put BF4 into this category. Yes it's an AAA title so is going to cost you £30-£35 to buy the game - that's standard. And yes there's DLC being released after a month with another 4 planned throughout the year so that's going to cost a bit more. I've spent £65 on BF4 altogether and honestly I know I'll definitely get my moneys worth. Map packs on an online FPS are a welcome sight for me and stop a game from turning into an old stale product repeating the same maps over and over. Only a few games can pull this off like Counterstrike (I used to play cs_assault and cs_office for hours on end no problem) but in today's market I think gamers have too short of an attention span and NEED that new content.

At the end of the day, I've spent £65 on worse things before so as long as I get a good year or two of decent gameplay from BF4 I'll be more than happy :) Already thoroughly impressed with it though and it's definitely re-invigorated my love for FPS's which had definitely been dwindling over the past couple of years.

Just played multiplayer for the first time. Literally no clue what was going on! Killed a few people. Got killed by many many people many many times. Then had to quit to cook dinner. None of it was fun as I had no idea what was going on, where you're supposed to go, what I was supposed to be doing or where enemies were! Everyone just seemed to run everywhere, didn't seem to be any logic that I could see

I'd get shot without even seeing anyone and be dead in a fraction of a second. Guess the effort it takes to get to grips with it and have some fun must be considerable... not sure I have the time disappointingly! :surrender:

But I know how much fun people have with this game so it annoys me that I didn't get it instantly... I WANT TO HAVE THAT!

I've played it for about 9 hours now and I still don't really enjoy it.

However it doesn't help that pretty much every time I join a game I end up on Conquest on maps that don't excite me.

IMO they've changed the gameplay too much from BF3. You die to quickly and it's too easy to camp on top of a roof and ruin the game for the people who want to play the game properly.

Slim, what game mode did you join? Was it a 64 player server by any chance?

This is why you need to join with friends ;)

i think I agree with you there. I've tried to play it a few times, but it just doesn't feel like BF to me. More like cod and moh merged together. Totally agree about the campers too, omg all over the shop!

This! Join a game with friends who have some experience and they'll be able to guide you round the maps, protect you, revive, etc. You'll also gain XP faster which will unlock more items and help you perform better and gain XP faster (yeah, I know!). If you can get on with voice comms even better.

I should be on-line from around 8.30 / 9.00 tonight for some extended game play... Wife will be out for the night and kids will be tucked up in bed... Should we try and get a bunch of PCS / EPCG peeps on the same server?

I'd love to come on tonight but I'm at a gig in Birmingham so will probably only be home at 12:30am'ish and then I have to pick the missus up from the station at 9:30am tomorrow morning and then go to a meeting with my bank :( Bad times, I'm growing up too quickly, I miss the days of all-nighters on the xbox, etc.

I'll play usually evenings from 10pm - 00:00. Thought Friday's is my gaming night, so tend to play for a bit longer :) Do we have any list of names of people on origin ? For what it's worth my origin name is: guildm4ge . I play with my work mate and we use Mumble for voice-com.

I'll be on tonight, probably on the BSM noobs server. If people want to co-ordinate games feel free to utilise this.

I don't think you die too quickly, I think that not all bullets that hit you register until the last couple making it seem like you die right away. I've noticed this in close contact but I've managed to outrun being killed out in the open from range by running to cover, if anything I think that's more realistic as bullets would lose velocity over distance but would cause maximum damage close up.

As for snipers on roofs, the XM25 Airburst takes care of those! And the SRAW to a lesser extent.
