Okay thanks for the advice its been very helpful!
I'm pretty sure I have the 750w one in my PC I bought in July and its been great although I think the less expensive option for my girlfriend is probably more suitable as I think the sims games are designed with lower end hardware in mind so I...
Thanks for the help, one question I have is about the power supply. Do you think going that high is absolutely necessary? The design page says it only needs 244w although I understand the high wattage gives a lot more room for upgrading later.
Just thinking she is unlikely to ever really need...
Okay thats good to know, this design was just based off of a website I found that calculates average FPS for games but if you don't think this would work I would love to see what you recommend!
I also checked the cooling on my PC which has made me think I've went overboard on this one.
Hi,
My girlfriend is looking to buy a PC soon and she asked me to design her one on here because she likes mine so much.
She is planning to use it just to play The Sims 4 with some mods and custom content, as well as for general Internet use and Microsoft Office programs for college.
She...
The PC is back to working as of now thankfully so I've moved everything I need for uni over to my laptop. Was gonna do a full backup to an external hard drive but I don't have £40-50 to spend on one at the moment unfortunately as I've just bought a car.
I've requested an RMA now so no need to respond if you can't be bothered lol but I left it unplugged for a couple hours and it's now turning on again, I managed to get a photo of the startup process I mentioned before.
Hello again, I was waiting until this happened again to take a photo but all was well for a while.
Just a moment ago though I was plugging in a USB-c plug into the pc (just a Bluetooth thing for my wireless headset) and the full PC shut down and will not start again at all.
Any recommendations...
Sorry for the late reply had a busy few days, I'm not actually to sure what it is but whenever I start my PC after this happens and it actually works, it doesn't just load straight into windows. Some boot up thing which I thought said BIOS startup (although i could be wrong) comes up and i have...
I had left it turned off completely with the power switch at the back set to off for about 2 hours there while i was working and now I'm on my lunch I turned it on to see if it works which it didn't.
I then opened up the side panel again and turned it on just to see if the lights for each...

Hi,
I bought a new PC a few months ago and I have had a couple of issues with it.
Not long after I bought it I was gaming on it and I banged my desk with my knee and the computer instantly froze. Wasn't able to ctrl alt del or anything just complete unresponsiveness. When I booted it back up...
Thanks a lot this looks great, I've always assumed I'd need the highest end of processors so thats great also the storage looks really good lots of SSD storage is fantastic. Upgrading the storage and GPU and making the whole thing cheaper is much better than I was hoping for lol. Gonna order...
Yeah 1080 144fps and £1600 is my limit, I'd preferably like it to be a bit cheaper if possible and yes just for gaming, anything else I do will just be web based like watching youtube etc so nothing to worry about there. Thanks for the quick reply!
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a gaming PC that will last a decent amount of time and not struggle with future releases. I dont need to play everything on max settings but I'd like to be able to run most games without dropping frames on my 144hz 1080p monitor. I'd say I'm pretty much at my budget limit...
I'm in the process of buying a monitor etc so that I can use my laptop to power an external monitor and keyboard etc and I'm wondering if I would be able to use a displayport 1.2 cable rather than HDMI 1.4 to make use of the 144hz 1080p capabilities of my monitor. Much appreciated if someone...
Im getting a laptop for college once my student loan comes in and I'll need it for programming and running databases etc but i also want to just use it for gaming, nothing too intense just fortnite, cities skylines, maybe some football manager. I dont need to play on ultra graphics or anything i...
I am planning WAAAAY ahead for my birthday in like 7 months and I created a laptop that I think I will get when the day comes around. It will be used for general purposes (Internet, youtube) and also gaming. I would like a laptop that could run games that are kind of performance heavy, but not...
Get that I might not be able to play things on ultra at all with my budget but any input is appreciated. I would like to stay under £750.
