I wasn't too far off I think @AgentCooper ? :) I had tried creating a spec but the case options were all Gobbledegook to me......
Fitting the H150i into a case can be a problem - so AgentC's has chosen the H115i for his case as the H150i won't fit (EDIT - or maybe just because the H150i isn't...
Oh - and drop the Arctic Thermal Paste as most AIO’s will come with paste ore-applied.
And upgrade the warranty too. Even just Silver Warranty for £5 can’t be argued with - but at £4K + I would want lots of protection!
Good morning!
I’m not much of a spec creation guru - but the rest will be here shortly I expect to assist. What I would say though would be:
The NZXT case is a hot box - you will need something better - the gang here will advise.
The Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard I think is the top end...
I couldn't find any other DPC info with a quick search there either.
Is it still a Beta AGESA update do you know? I don't think I've seen any full release updates yet. There was an AGESA patch back in April too mind you.....exactly as you say would be interesting to keep an eye out for any...
Just having a quick read through some other info - many of the X570 boards seem to run up to ten times (or more) higher latency than the Strix B550. That's bananas!
Crazy latency could explain the other USB issues like I have had with the lower end B550 board too maybe. Interesting to see what...
That's really interesting @SpyderTracks - I think we had someone here recently with a Crosshair VIII board I think it was with popping and crackling on the audio channel. A BIOS update seemed to fix it, but I wonder was it actually all related to your link above? Interesting stuff....
I have to agree with you @SpyderTracks - I would never have considered MSFS would be usable with VR at those kinds of settings or refresh rates. I'm very surprised at the lads experiences but what they say ultimately makes sense I guess.
We get the opposite when you guys are playing with your boats on a moonless night.
A low level banked turn over a dark featureless sea - with just the lights from a few boats - can cause the brain to find a horizon reference across the lights that isn't really there. Your eyes tell you that...
Funny but true!!! @MrWilson !
The toughest part of learning to fly is when on instruments only without visual reference. In turbulence, what you see and what you feel frequently doesn't match up and if you respond to the sensation rather than the visuals - which is what you are hard wired to do...
That is it 100%. In the job the added issue of externally induced motion added to the mix makes disorientation a real threat to us and something we discuss and train for continuously. Your eyes, your bottom (or kinaesthetic sense more correctly), and you inner ear are the three bits that your...
That's a great point actually @Scott (y)
I just put the question to our sim engineers and I'm told our system uses a 60Hz refresh rate - at a resolution of around 2.5k across three projectors - totally standard for the industry it seems. US systems use 50Hz - because of their native power...
Yeah being honest I just can't see how VR with MSFS could possibly be the full experience you would hope for. It's such a labour intensive thing that even with the highest end GPU and a single monitor, FPS stays really low with the settings turned all the way up. With VR I imagine you would have...
It makes the Oculus choice of 80 Hz all the more unusual doesn’t it? Almost every article I read yesterday after I first saw this thread agreed that anything less than 90 Hz is likely to induce disorientation or nausea.
I wonder why Oculus chose that particular frequency? Is it just because...
Wow - given my vocation I am quite surprised to see an article like that suggesting theories are few for VR sickness!
It's a different thing of course, but in a flight simulator even slight flaws in the visual system will cause nausea and disorientation through a large range of fully understood...
See @AgentCooper ? I told you it was pointless asking him.
@Scott - Thanks for all that - a brill reference - I might come back to down the road whenever this is properly on my agenda! (y)
After I posted that I thought - the gang will know I’m messing! But more importantly Scott will know I’m messing.
Won’t he? I mean, won’t he? WON’T HE???? 😱
