    PCSPECIALIST Nova bluetooth problems

Just to update. PCS sent me a new bluetooth module when I messaged them (not through the RMA process). Fitted it over the weekend and so far seems to have cured the problem.

    PCSPECIALIST Nova bluetooth problems

That's what I'm thinking, it being a dud. I've sent PCS a msg via the site as I don't have the time this week to sit on the phone getting through to support.

    PCSPECIALIST Nova bluetooth problems

I'm not having any trouble connecting devices via Bluetooth when bluetooth is available for me to connect. I simply don't have the bluetooth function in my settings or devices most of the time. Sometimes it comes back when I reboot but that only works occasionally. My mouse is via 2.4ghz...

    PCSPECIALIST Nova bluetooth problems

I've found the bluetooth module to be really flaky in the Nova. It's an intel unit. It randomly appears or disappears in settings within the notifcation bar. I've opened the laptop up and reseated the module but it's still the same. I've uninstalled and re-installed with latest drivers...

    PCSPECIALIST Nova 15' review

I've also had various external USB HDD, DVD-writer and a non bus powered BD-writer drive hooked up to the USB ports directly and via hubs both USB 3.0 and USB C ones. Only had an issue with one hub but that was with the hub itself other wise problem free. Am currently porting 400gb of data...

    PCSPECIALIST Prime Day

Good spot with the IOPS. I wasn't that fussed with the DRAM as it wasn't going to be used as a boot drive.

    PCSPECIALIST Prime Day

I had my eye on this 2tb SSD hoping it would be on Prime day deals. Under £135 for a well known brand isn't too bad. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07YD5F561/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

PCSPECIALIST Lag when Power cord isnt inserted?

If it's on battery power I suspect it will most likely throttle back on power consumption by the CPU and GPU whatever power settings you and you will have to have to be plugged in to get the full performance. My old MSI with an 870m would not run the discrete Nvidia GPU and default to the...

PCSPECIALIST Is the Nova 15.6" compatible with 3200 MHz memory?

That's a really crappy situation. Hopefully you get things sorted out sooner than expected.

PCSPECIALIST Help with new laptop specs please

If you're happy with the laptop performance as is and you don't need portability maybe just buy and external monitor and keyboard and carry on using it till it dies? Certainly much cheaper than a new laptop.

PCSPECIALIST Nova 2x M.2 port bandwidth

Just to note I've had no issues with the 2 drives I have in my laptop. I had read about the Samsung drive thing prior to ordering and specifically chose not to get that brand just to be safe and also for cost reasons. I was going to buy the 2nd drive seperately and save a couple of pounds but...

PCSPECIALIST Nova with 1440p 144hz refresh rate

Ah, fair enough. Thanks for clarifying. I do think the 1000 and 2000 series mobile GPUs were much less hamstrung and cut down than the previous 800 and 900 series chips so are much more comparable with the desktop versions. The new mobile 3000s I fear will be much less of a jump from the...

PCSPECIALIST Nova with 1440p 144hz refresh rate

As far as I know, the only laptop that uses both full fat desktop spec CPU and GPU is the Alienware M51.

PCSPECIALIST Could someone have a quick look over this please?

Possibly but only after the initial rush. Unless you have to be an early adopter and must have the best thing right away waiting a few months should work.

PCSPECIALIST Could someone have a quick look over this please?

I would definitely wait for later on for a new monitor. With new consoles and teh 3000 series GPUs there will be a lot of people wanting 4k high refresh monitors which should drive the prices down as there will be a much bigger market for them.
