Oh oof ok. I wouldn't know how to check. The only way I was able to modify their speed was by using QFan in the bios to set the W_PUMP+ to manual and then dragging everything down. So I guess I've also slowed my pump down. No other entry allowed me to control the fans outside of the rear fan...
There are entries for "AIO Pump" and "W_Pump+" and only changing w_pump affected the case fans. I've not moved anything around in the case. Worth ringing them tomorrow?
Hi all thanks for the responses. I delved back into the bios and played around with the fans and as it turns out all the case fans are tied to the "Wpump+" entry, so modifying that fan curve allowed me to slow the fans down in a way that persists through reboots (No idea why there are 4 chassis...
Hi all, at the suggestion of Spyder I'm making a "please help" thread.
My new build arrived yesterday and aside from a few confusing build choices I love it. The big issue at the moment is the fans.
The case is a 5000D Airflow and I emailed PCSpecialist and asked if the 5 additional fans could...
Ah no the rgb is great but the fans only come with the lighting node so icue can't control their speed. Armoury crate was suggested but it seems to only identify one of the 7 fans (and as a CPU fan at that). The rest just run at 100% constantly. Just something to watch out for if you're...
I dunno if you were gonna opt for this or not but now I have the system I wouldn't recommend. I can't control the chassis fans with qfan or armoury crate so they're just at 100% constantly.
If you have your heart set on the lcd corsair do sell a standalone upgrade kit: https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Liquid-Cooling/iCUE-ELITE-CPU-Cooler-LCD-Display-Upgrade-Kit/p/CW-9060056-WW
Not sure how this might interact with your pcs warranty though.
Also for the 5000DA if you contact PCspecialist you can ask them to replace the two stock fans with RGB ones, at a cost ofc. But it's an option. Could even ask them to populate all the empty fan slots (the 5000 series have an option for side fan mounting). I'm waiting on an build in the 5000DA...
I must be pretty unlucky then as my PC spent 2 days "in building" then moved to "in testing" on the morning of the 28th and hasn't moved since.
I'm assuming they haven't found any issues at least, since I've got zero notes on the order.
The ultrawide? It's gorgeous but yeah I doubt it'd help with the channel work haha. Maybe if I ever get to the point where I can fit two setups. Thanks for the monitor recommendation!
Haha, the 4tb firecuda is now showing as out of stock. I give up. I'll try again in a month or something.
I haven't really thought about the monitor yet, so any advice would be appreciated.
I did have some trepidation about windows 11 but as far as I've heard the P core/E core setup of the 12th gen Intel cores only really shines on windows 11 right now, so I was thinking it might be worth it...
Yeah, I know its ridiculous. I'm in a position where over the last year I've moved into content creation for YTube and twitch with decent success which has given me disposable income I'd like to reinvest in a ridiculous setup. I would be using the system for gaming, streaming and video editing...
I was planning to add this to the topic I made yesterday but for some reason it was locked.
I'm looking for advice when it comes to the purchase of a 3090 card. Yesterday I asked about the branding available for the ~£1700 3090 on offer via PCS vs the ~£1900 Strix version that is currently out...
Again, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm really not, but your own final post in my 2080ti topic is you saying that you didn't help and in fact complicated the issue further. I fully understand that troubleshooting is a process of elimination, but in that topic you declared that there was something...
Ah ok, understood. I've just checked out some reviews of the Zotac 3090 on Amazon and a few have mentioned the inadequate cooling, while the ASUS cards have generally positive comments about the cooling, so in this instance I think it might be worth not risking it with a Palit/Zotac card as I...
True, and to be fair to Palit I don't think the original card's issue were because of them. I think my saltiness comes from how much back and forth there was with different people at PCS about the card before someone was finally upfront with me about it sounding like I had a bad GPU. Once the...
Thanks for the heads up. Perhaps I'll hold off on the build or have a check elsewhere then. I know the 40 series cards are expected to appear this year so I'm also considering just waiting for that too, but wanted to at least upgrade my GPU because it just can't seem to keep up with the editing...
Ok, thank you. I'll keep an eye out for if the ASUS ones come back in stock. I understand that the chips themselves are the same but as mentioned I had major issues with my previous Palit card that I'd rather not risk repeating. Of course I understand that I could very possibly have the same...
Hi all, I was in the process of getting funds together to grab a new PC but I now see the Strix 3090 is out of stock and the TUF version has apparently been discontinued? At least according to the message that popped up when I tried to turn my quote into a purchase.
Does anyone know what brand...
