Hi just noticed that there is a price hike on my build by £50.. the difference is that a few hours ago the 3070 was available but now it has gone to preorder only again.
Any ideas what the reason might be? I presume that the price of the 3070 wouldn't fluctuate so much in a few hours (+8.5% or...
Got tired of waiting for the new graphics cars just to see that there is no stock. Plus they tend to push the spec above 2k which I am not happy. If I want to get one of the unicorn cards I have to compromise financially on other aspects which I think is a bit much.
What do you think of this...
I am with you on the monitor. Haven't decided yet (sacrilegious I know) , I have an lg that goes to 1920x1200 right now but want to change.
something along these lines though (price and size)...
and now the 850w and 1000w PSUs are out of stock obviously.
I had a saved built with 850 , then 1000 waiting for the 3060 but god knows what PSUs will be available then..
I wonder if this now is more important regarding the fact that different makers have made different quality 3k series cards resulting with all these performance issues..
I presume that the same might be for the 3060s when they come out?
In all fairness, a two month wait will also cover the launch of a new AMD Ryzen if I am not mistaken, or something like that which is for end of October and god knows what else. So PCs could be looking at some very fluid builds...
Hi all
what's the difference between a zotac or gigabyte 3080 gpu and should someone bother?
Or would it be better to wait for the once from NVIDIA directly?
does it matter?...
ta!
Hi
As most of us I am excited about the new 3 series and has put my built (or my order with PCS more like) on hold. A built that I have been thinking about for a while now.
What do we think that the lead times on getting one will be? To get one in our hands (or PCS), because I bet the order...
right o
so going back to the PSU is it fair to say that a small one (550w) would stem the capability of my GPU to be all it can be?
it might be enough if I start of with the hand me down monitor that I currently found behind a dumpster (LG24EB23) that does 1920xsomething when it is happy.
but...
aaaaaaa
so based on this latest comment of yours then, I take it if you pair your GPU with a feeble monitor, the power the GPU will be consuming will be much much less compared to when connected to 3x 4K monitors.
and thus it all comes full circle. if I am planning to purchase a really fancy...
cool cool
i like where this is going.
Now I have done some more changes, went back to the built that was kindly provided by @Nursemorph and added some bits.
I would like to have an SSD as it can reduce loading times as I have heard of maps etc. unless I am missing something again. Of course...
cool I figured that to be honest. and it does go without saying that a monitor should be able to make the most of the GPU.
I think the better phrasing would be for the end user to make sure that they combine their built with a monitor that makes the most out of the GPUs capabilities.
My query...
cheers for this.
when I add up the SSD that I want and other bits etc it comes to a very similar price to what the intel was.
I can see where the AMD can be better in the finer numbers but in the end a 2k machine should have a fair amount of life in it. at the tail end of its use which should...
hi
thanks for the quick reply.
I see your point to wait for the new gpu fair enough.
the built will be mostly for gaming, map making (satellite imagery processing etc) and general home usage.
I do not have a fancy monitor yet, that would be another purchase. Currently I have a second hand LG...
