One of the sales rep also said that the 980 1tb was out of stock, so i replaced it with 980 500g in hopes that it will speed things up and bring me closer to build time. Hopefully you will get your new pc before Xmas.
I know it's fustrating, but hang in there so at least you can hold on to price you paid for in Nov 1st. Just to give an example the 6800xt gpu shot up from £636 to £810 in a matter of few weeks. I'm in the same boat at 34 days. You never know if pricing post brexit may get weird for the worst...
I'm guessing their covid update means that they are still furfilling orders. Looks like they are going to soldier on with pc builds and it seems that they are working OT and weekends to catch up with outstanding orders, according to sales team. They just need those deliveries of cpu and gpu to...
I can only hope for a surprise shipments of ryzen cpu's this month. They did get surprise shipments of 3090's and 6900xt in stock, so who knows, though I still think it's more likely to be January.
Had the same response this morning too. Hoping for some luck that it may come in later this month, though it seems to me that it's going to be January. Thanks AMD!
Sales team told me that they were expecting x100 shipments of 5900x, but they had been let down a couple of times for the last few weeks. Safer to assume that it may arrive sometime after xmas. Hopefully the 6800xt would be restocked by then. Only the 6900xt is in stock right now.
Looks stunning! Congratulations on being the first to post Navi 2 build pics I'm really digging the Radeon logo highlight. Hope this may be the sign of many other navi 2 builds to despatch for the rest of us in the not so distant future.
Sounds like some serious dressing down happened behind the scenes for those in Nvidia PR debacle.
I really hope that they can turn things around by first by not strongarming tech jornalists and to be more receptive to constructive criticism that may help them improve on their next GPU product...
Just had email notification from CCL computers saying that they had limited supplies of XFX MERC 319 OC 6800XT in stock. Sold out now and really not worth £850 in my books. Hope that it is a sign of 6800XT stock may start to arrive soon to PCS and to the rest of the retailers
Not the most convincing of an apology email from Nvidia.
This whole fiasco hurt Nvidia more then Hardware Unboxed. I'm sure the they have gained a few more subscribers since then.
That was one heck of a trainwreck email they sent to Hardware Unboxed. Sheer arrogance from Nvidia. They made the right decision with the apology, but seems to me that it's no more then a damage control measure taken to address their stupid mistake that could of lead to further backlash if left...
At £35 price difference, the 6800xt is a tempting choice, but a longer wait. However it's good to know that your equally impressive 6800 build will be there before xmas. Hope you post some photos as you may be the first few to get an AMD gpu build pics in forum
Yeah it's a waiting game now. If I rush I pay dearly. The only gpu available with online shops at the moment is 3090's and they are going in for £1500 to £1750 which I know will be a waste of money. I think prices of GPU's in general wont stabilise until 2021.
I'm not sure really, I remembered one channel was claiming the gddr6 shortage and another was dismissing it. I just think that AMD bit off more then they can chew with releasing xbox and ps5 alongside desktop cpu and gpu in the same year and can't keep up with enough 7mm nm chips to meet demand...
