It might have been attainable, but I bet it it wouldn't have been insurable😂it was my 'dream attainable car' back in my early teens for quite some time I seem to remember

With a nice smear of copper slipand a nice polish on any pins
General servicing I agree.Calipers are a DIY job IMO
New seals and a nice polish on any pins tends to do the job nicely
General servicing I agree.
But when you've bought some second hand ones and need a hydraulic press to get the old pistons out and have to replace leaking bleed nipples, then a bit of expert help is useful.
I just drive the damn things.I'm an engine-ear so that's all childsplay
I've never needed a press though, I've got a fine selection of persuaders in my arsenal. First you get them to move inward, then you can reconnect them to the line and pump the brake to get them out the way. Hasn't failed me yet and that's been mostly on 1990s Japanese variants that tend to seize up at the first sine of a British coast.
I have replaced a number of pistons mind you but when that's the case you don't need to use the gentle approach on removal 😇
That i can agree, My first years insurance with the DS3 Racing and the cheapest i could get was just shy of £1900 fully comp, i got one price way cheaper than this at £1000, but that would of needed a black box fitted, For me, you don't buy cars like this to have a black box fitted,It might have been attainable, but I bet it it wouldn't have been insurable😂
I would politely tell them where to go, they have absolutely no right to ask you for them back, their yours, you bought the car, you own the parts, they have no claim to them.No exchange or surcharge, all they stated, that it was a cost of £700 for each caliper, no mention of having to bring my old calipers back to them, but as soon as i picked up my calipers from the Citroen garage, they told me i have to give my old caliper to them,
It's a Citroen dealership, which ordered the calipers direct from Citroen,I would politely tell them where to go, they have absolutely no right to ask you for them back, their yours, you bought the car, you own the parts, they have no claim to them.
Is it an actual citroen garage or a dealership?
They're trying to pull a fast one, pure and simple. They have zero grounds. It's a Citroen dealership, which ordered the calipers direct from Citroen,
Those are my thoughts as well, if they wanted my old calipers back, they would of at least discounted the price of the new ones, as i had already asked about that, but they said NO!They're trying to pull a fast one, pure and simple. They have zero grounds.
Yeah, just totally unacceptable. They should be reported to trading standards IMHOThose are my thoughts as well, if they wanted my old calipers back, they would of at least discounted the price of the new ones, as i had already asked about that, but they said NO!
