Vortex III Elite AUO screen.

I ordered my brand new Vortex III with the AUO matt LED 72% Gamut (extra £85+) screen on 11 February (after a wait of several months while it was out of stock). It was faulty. I returned it. The screen was replaced with a Chi-Mei that is identified in Windows as a "CMO1720". I was told this exchange was an "oversight" and RMA-ed for a second time. My latest fault report says that I now have an AUO screen installed - but the online document does not say WHICH AUO model that is. This thread has suggested there may be a standard AUO display as well as the significantly more costly option. How can I be assured that I have had the CORRECT component fitted this time ? Obviously, it will be the first thing I will want to check upon receipt. What are the model numbers for the matt AUO screens as they will be displayed in Windows 7's "Device Manager" ?

You seem to have misunderstood.

There is not a standard AUO screen and a "premium" (for want of a better word) AUO screen available on here...
What you have read is where some chassis have the AUO screen fitted as standard....IE they automatically come with it.
This also related to the Vortex III Elite Chassis that come from Clevo with the AUO screen already fitted (From what i read this is also only a phase Clevo went through even then...)

For the 17.3" Vortex III there were only two choices of screen, matte or gloss
There are currently three choices, matte, gloss or the AUO matte screen (AU Optronics screen, which is better quality (72% Gamut) than the standard matte screens that get fitted, which were coming from a couple of different manufacturers,. chi mei being one)
