Im now eyeing up the G7 nmonitor for myself.... My monitor was £20 less than that and only 1440p!
£585 for 4K 144Hz IPS feels like a genuine steal.

You can always see the trends coming. As the GPUs become more capable, the market shifts. It takes a little while for the prices to come down but they do get there.

If you build it, they will come.

Sorry another question, as I have bought the two monitors which have display port and hdmi connectivity, does this motherboard in this pc system have the display
port connectivity too?

how many hdmi ports does this system have? and any others connections? Like dvi etc?

how would I connect both monitors? I can only see one hdmi port?

thanks

You don't connect to the motherboard but the graphics card.

HDMI isn't really used on computers, it's more for home media, but is has one HDMI port.

The main port on PC's is Display Port, it has 3 DP's.

DVI went end of life many years ago.

Just connect the monitors to DP ports.

Great, I am still comparing these to my current pc which I bought in 2010! I will need to check if my new monitors will have these Dp cables .

thanks

All new monitors come with DP cables included. It's the standard cable for monitors.

HDMI is for TV or Hifi system connectivity, it's not for PC's really.

Ok I was very close to buying these from Amazon, did try looking at the Amazon links for these two monitors I bought today and some say it did in the questions/answers and some say it didn’t. I’ll wait and see

Monitors and the speakers arrived today - waiting for the PC to arrive on Saturday!

A few questions with regards to video editing. I will most likely purchase /use Adobe Premiere for video editing although not keen on paying monthly subscription!

Anyway, any suggestions on how to utilise the drives in my system for best fast performance.

Do I install the Adobe software on the first Ssd drive (500gb SSD DRIVE) , and do I import my raw video files onto the second 2Tb ssd and export the finished files on same drive? would that be faster than using the other Hdd?

Or which id the best way performance and speedwise?

thanks

Install adobe on the first drive along with the OS. Have the RAW video on the 2TB SSD for fast loading. In the configuration for Adobe, create a folder on the 2TB drive and set it as the cache location for Adobe itself.

When exporting, export to the desktop or primary drive. Once complete, move them to the mass storage or final location :)

Great, I guess I could store it in my HDD as the final location. Thanks

I am planning to install my old1TB hard drive (1TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD1002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)) from my old PC to the new one and transfer all the video files over to the new storage hard drive, the old drive is nearly full.

If I leave the drive in the new PC will this likely to slow the PC down?

Hi guys

Just ordered a top spec PC mainly for video editing.

I am thinking of buying an external or internal NAS drive to store my family 4k videos and stream/watch these i.e firestick or other media players using Kodi etc.

My question is will this work? Will I be able to play these files effectively? I do have 1000meg internet.

My preference is buying an internal NAS drive , will this slow my PC down? or is external better? Any recommendations?

Thanks

Do you know what file format the old drive was?
Not sure if that could cause complications or not... I could be wrong but im sure someones told me in the past that the two cant communicate (Fat32/NTFS)

Not sure what cloud storage you may/may not use but theres bound to be a workaround, I have a 1TB onedrive account that I sync to my system, hatchet job style wayt of doing it would be to upload the lot and download onto the new one...but there must be better options.

Regarding slowing the system down, it shouldnt make an impact, assuming you arent using it to run programs off etc, if its just file storage then its just a reference drive (for want of a better way of wording it)If its got a operating system on it it may be better to use an external caddy which you can then treat like an oversized usb stick, just in case BIOS has it set to read it first before the M2 SSD when starting the system up.

Not sure which format it is but I think it would be FAT32, its a 10 year old drive. I could always install it, transfer everything over to new and remove it. Proving it allows me to do that with the format complications.
