Hope when you say “parts not in until 20/7” you mean something other than the 10900k, as when I spoke to them on Friday they said they were expecting to get a shipment in at the start of the month.
Already on 20 working days so I think that extra delay to nearly the last week in July would destroy me 😅

Well my dreams of getting it in the next month have likely been broken 💔🤣
Guess we can only hope that the supplier they are getting them from can perform some sort of magic and get them to them sooner haha.
Kinda interesting that I had one of their manually sent emails come through this morning though, saying my estimated build date has moved forward from the 3rd July to 30th June despite them having no stock currently 🤔
Oh well, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens 😅

Yeah when I was first looking to build the 10900k was supposed to be coming it around 10/7 now put back to the 20/7. I’m seriously thinking of going down the and route now.

Wouldn’t blame you. From everything I’ve been reading on here over the last few weeks they are out performing intel on every level.
The guys on here know so much and their advice is great, I wish I knew about the forum before I ordered 😂

If it wasn’t for the fact I have ordered on finance and have already cancelled and reordered once already, as I’m sure I’d never get approved for it again haha, I would likely do the same.

But I’ve made my bed so I’m gonna lay in it 😅
If the current trend in performance and such is the same in a few years though, you can be sure I’m gonna go AMD when it comes time to upgrade.

Honestly? Now is not the time to be "experimenting" with Intel. Taking aside the performance, efficiency, cost aspects, the vulnerabilities in the Intel platform are reason enough (several times a year they seem to find another flaw in their architecture which requires a patch which degrades performance). Personally, I would sacrifice a few weeks wait to change to an AMD platform but it is your choice.

If you are determined to stick with the Intel, then I'd suggest (limited without knowing uses etc):

- chnage the RAM to 2x16GB.....not only is it cheaper but overally performance is better with 2 sticks.
- Change the cooler to the Corsaid H115i Platinum (the last selection on the list). With an overclocked i9 it is going to be pumping out a considerable amount of heat. Plus that particular H115i is very quiet

Those 2 changes would take you to £2293.

If you are open to an AMD build (bear in mind you would need to cancel the order and start again due to it being a different configurator), then let us know the following and one of us can spec you up a system:

- Maximum budget? Helps to know if there is any room to upgrade things

- Monitor to be used with this system? Resolution and refresh rate or make and model if unsure. Gaming systems are always specced according to the monitor

- Any other uses to take into account? Editing? Streaming? things like that

How's this?

I like the look of that. I’m sold on amd now I think. I’m gonna post a configuration a little later soon as I get time. I will post it on here and would appreciate if you could tell me what you think. I will eventually be getting a 1440 monitor looking at 1ms response and 260hz. Just not yet

It will be soo er rather than later. Once I have the monitor and a decent chair(mines really old and liking the secret labs Titan ). The plan is to not spend any more on the pc for a good while.

Don't go with me. Wait for Scott, Spyder or nurse to reply and their builds will be perfect.

I would strongly advise against buying anything remotely like your initial build for, what I'm guessing are, your intended uses.

Can you let us know what monitor you are currently gaming on?
Guessing gaming is up there with the uses, are there any other uses (RAM is sticking out for me right now)

It's a VERY bad idea to buy a GPU right now to facilitate a monitor in X months/years. The next generation GPU is out in September, the money saved from going for a sensible GPU right now can be put towards the next gen next year, along with the monitor. The GPU and monitor always go hand in hand and there is absolutely no way of future proofing either of these purchases.

No-one on here knows how stock is allocated vis-a-vis time of order...whether it's parts are allocated at time of order or not. If you are getting that, then maybe that chip was in stock when you ordered (you would have had a message at time of order if it wasn't), hence why you are getting it earlier than the next stock date indicates. But I am speculating as I don't work for PCS so no clue how they operate in regards to stock

There is definitely an element of stock allocation as well as JIT ordering. When the items go out of stock in configurator it does not necessarily mean they are fully stocked out for current builds in the pipeline. It means all the allocation of deliveries up to that point are utilised.

they have said to me that wouldn’t be any problems with my build in the queue despite items appearing out of stock on configurator till August. Basically it would only be a hiccup from an order that is expected that would cause a serious delay and if that were to happen they would contact me to discuss options.

The monitor will be bought in around 4 weeks time. I will mostly be using for gaming, then hopefully be getting into streaming. I’m now thinking of just 16gb of either 3200 or even 3400 ram.

Do you know which monitor you are going to buy? Or what sort of budget you are looking to spend on it? Just to give an indication of the performance required.

Looking at at least 1440 and 260hz

I don't think that exists.

Could you post some links to what you are looking at?

Common resolution refresh rates are:

1080p 60/144/240hz
1440p 60/120/144hz
4k 60/120/144hz

There are of course exceptions that get into the extreme 240hz+ scenarios but these are very much competition based and not commonly purchased.

There's no real point in maxing our your budget just for the sake of it. I would recommend slowing down a little bit, getting a firm grasp on what you want and then we can see what it costs.

The above build is significantly more than I would recommend spending for the sort of performance you are looking at. You're not really gaining anything with some of the selections made.
