And a last one through for the day, it's been a bit crazy for a wednesday!

This is the Magnolia Soundtrack by Mondo, they first issued this in 2018 (which I have) and it was the first and only time the Magnolia songs had been pressed to vinyl, but that copy had quite a major pressing defect with distortion and pretty bad popping on the opening track which is my favorite. Aimee Mann, the artist who made half the Magnolia Songs, issued a vinyl copy of her album "Bachelor Number 2, Or the Last Remains Of The Dodo" for Record Store Day in 2020 and as a bonus put an extra record on there with her Magnolia songs, that was the first time that album had been pressed to vinyl, that copy is absolutely flawless, I was very lucky to pick one up.

And now they've reissued this copy but used a far better pressing plant and it's a whole new master job as well, and it's nice colours, so I'm hoping this will be a far better copy than the original.

The track I particularly love is called "One":

Odesza - In The Rain, this was a special single they've done, no idea what it's like and don't normally pick up singles like this but I adore Odesza

The Ed Banger Records - Club Classics Vol 2 box set, amazing french label, big into french house, included artists like Justice who have cemented themselves as a favorite

This is a nice one, the Zooropa 30th Anniversary reissue. I have an original of this and a later bootleg, the original can go into storage, would be nice to keep that in good nick. You can't see it from the photo, but the whole cover is foil, it's really nicely done.

I went to see this tour at Wembley in 1993, was an incredible gig, but I went with a girl I had a huge crush on and a few friends, and my mate ended up getting with her, me was proper sad. But the gig and a lot of beer made it all betterer.

A hugely important one in my books.

Phil Collins - Face Value, this is one of the first from the new Atlantic 75 series from Analogue Productions. The first I think 2 thousands are pressed at Quality Record Pressings (the pressing arm of Analogue Productions), then the rest are pressed at RTI. They're both excellent, but I really rate QRP as probably the best pressing plant on the planet, so I'm really pleased I got one done there.

This has the infamous "In The Air Tonight", and from all the reviews I've seen, this version slams the original. Just for that track alone, I'm uber excited about this!

I know it may seem sacrilege but I have a CD copy of this somewhere that I picked up in a charity shop
I've not actually heard it I'm ashamed to admit, I liked a couple of tracks off Momentary Lapse Of Reason, but it wasn't my favourite album by a long shot, but the musical style was good which I believe this is more of, session takes of just jamming more than singing tracks. Looking forward to it.

Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever, this is a 2017 reissue cut by Chris Bellman, who consistently puts out some of the best reissues on the planet, so I'm really looking forward to it

Max Richter - Sleep: Tranquility Base, this is a 30 minute EP of some digital remixes of some of the original Sleep tracks, Alva Noto (german electronic genius and others have worked on it).

Sleep was an 8 hour long live marathon project that Max performed live along with his orchestra in Parks and stadiums around the world, it's played overnight and people can camp out in camp beds, the ethos is that it helps detatch from fast paced and informational overload daily life

It's pretty out there, but so beautiful:

So proper fanboy moment here.

This first one I've been after for over a decade, this is Lemon Jelly's first promo single that was distributed at festivals where they'd be promoting their new stuff. These tracks don't appear on their albums, they're only available on these giveaway 7" singles. They're hard to find in decent condition, especially this kind of condition where it has the original condom still in the back pocket! As you can guess, most of those were used at the time :) The first 15 of these actually had a hand embroidered Soft Rock logo, but I've never seen on of those come up for sale, ever. Apparently there are 1000 in all including the hand embroidered ones.

This is the Lemon Jelly Soft Rock 7" in handmade jeans outer on blue vinyl

There is another single they did in this style called Rolled Oats which I have on order as well. I've been waiting and waiting for the right copies of these for years now, this one really does look untouched, I reckon whoever had it just forgot they had it and plonked it somewhere.

And then, a few of their other singles, 3 of which are still sealed, the other is pretty pristine although has been unwrapped, but the wrapper and hype sticker are still intact inside

From top left down to top right and down - All by Lemon Jelly

Make Things Right Beatless version
The Shouty Track
Make Things Right (this is the one that's been played)

Those are way too cool!

Did you listen to the Phil Collins one? Is that the one referenced in American Psycho?

What's the difference in the track, is it a different production or is it a quality thing?

The Phil Collins is amazing, it’s just a very high quality pressing and mastering, but it’s the original album, not an alternative version, just sound quality is a lot better than previously available. It’s mastered and cut by Chris Bellman who is one of the top mastering engineers along with Kevin Gray and Ryan K Smith. I would say those 3 are kind of equal at the very top.

It is the one referenced in American psycho :)

You know you hear people saying when top end “sparkles”? I never really understood what that meant until I heard this, it’s pretty phenomenal.
