your delivery guy must be delighted

So I Just Came To Switzerland And Police Stopped Me & Brought To Police ...
Royal Mail promised me a delivery today, I have proof sent yesterday, but no, they're just palming me off until someone willing comes along who'll go out of their way to deliver to me. It's a conspiracy I tell you.

Just posting as a heads up as it's more current generation music which is extremely unusual for Analogue Productions to consider, especially for a UHQR title, I'm definitely gonna pick this up, bodes well for some more modern 90's onwards titles, he's getting hammered to do Nirvana Nevermind.

Or you can order from official European distributor, does work out a tiny bit cheaper. Neither account for import tax but so far I haven't had to pay any on importing these high dollar records from either US or Europe

Mate, it was released twenty years ago. We’re old.
I suspect the reason why this LP got the Analogue Productions treatment is that Jack White is a vintage nerd and most of the equipment used to record Elephant was all made in the 60s (and/or preceding decades). Seems like a good match to me 👍

Jack White also has his own record plant called 3rd Man Records, they've gotten so good that Blue Note enlisted them to produce some all analogue Blue Note titles, Blue Note only pick extremely high quality. So Jack is really well known in the business.

That and yeah, all his Records were recorded in very high AAA fashion which was almost unheard of for bands of the time.

20 years though, that would have been the equivalent of me collecting beatles titles when I was at school

Crazy man, the last 20 years I'm perfectly sure are a computing error, not certain they happened.

Really exciting one, this has been repressed after selling out really quickly a few years ago. It's a bit of a rock opera as a piece of work

Got through the new Sigur Ros album that's just been released, Atta, Sigur Ros if you haven't heard of them are an Icelandic band, famous not just for their beautiful music, but also because they sing in a totally made up nonsense language they call "Hopelandic", I'm an avid fan of theirs and have everything they've ever released. The front man, Jonsi actually owns a shop in the center of Reykjavik that he runs with his 3 sisters, Jonsi is definitely the artistic mind of the band, true genius. He makes all the music that plays in the shop and released a very limited number of 7" records with some of the shop music, and I'm very lucky to have gotten both of those when they went on sale in the shop, I think it was only 50 or so copies that were made available.

And then this came through, it was in a card backed envelope, with just my first name on the address. I always assume the worst in anything and thought it was someone who'd taken slight to me trolling idiots on Twitter or here or something like that, or perhaps that it was @AgentCooper response to the flowers I sent them :ROFLMAO:

Of course when I looked at it properly it has the world famous toungue and lips, it's just a sliver print, just the red part, on the reverse it has a web address of https://www.dontgetangrywithme.com/

Of course, it's the Stones promoting their upcoming new material album! I'm on their mailing list as have bought a few records and box sets from their site and I guess they've just blanket sent these out to anyone on their list.

This is not unusual for the Stones, they're quite infamous for doing strange little things like this before an album

The first hint that this album was coming was an advert placed in the Hackney Gazette that fans picked up on, there's loads of little easter eggs in it including song titles, the band motif (if you look very closely) and other references

But it's just been so long since they released a studio album of all new material!

So this is a grail piece for me, I don't collect many originals unless they simply haven't been reissued, or if they're extremely important copies where I just want the extra fidelity that an original can often give. Problem is finding them in good condition, it can be a bit of a minefield where sellers mis grade, so you have to go through the hassle of returning it, the expense of shipping, it's just a pain.

But there are a few albums where I'm willing to go through the pain, and this is one.

This is an original 1979 German first press of Pink Floyd - The Wall. German presses are a little known secret, they used the exact same metalworks as the UK originals of the time, but German pressing plants generally put out better quality vinyl and presses. So often, the German OG will sound as good, and even sometimes better than a UK original at a fraction of the cost. People are starting to cotton onto this and so prices are steadily increasing, especially since UK originals of equivalent albums are often now over £1000. For some context, this cost me 60 Euros! Visually it's in incredible shape, has all the correct inner sleeves, and even the plastic Pink Floyd label still intact which most people threw away or got ripped over time. But obviously the proof is in the playing so I'll find out if it's as good as it looks tonight.

It does look in beautiful condition though, the records too.

This is a telltale sign it's a genuine original german press, later copies stated "Written by Roger Waters", this was when they got into pretty major arguments over who owned the rights to their music.

All the matrix numbers match the discogs listing for the original also.
I'm so excited!

Loads of pre orders all finally hitting.

This is the 50th Anniversary box set of The Who - Who's Next on 4 disks, includes their live set from San Francisco in '71 which is in full on 3 disk vinyl for the first time.
They did another 3 disk version which included a double disk of session out takes.

Then the last Chicane album, The Whole Is Greater Than The Sum Of It's Parts, first time on vinyl too.

Chicane - Giants, probably my least favorite album of his, but had to have the set

The now infamous 2009, reissued as 25th Anniversary box of Beastie Boys Hello Nasy, been after this for a while but the 2009 box was just stupidly expensive as only 1500 were made. This completes my collection of their box sets, very pleased.
