That’s a different monitor, that’s the 279q which is a very top tier 1440p monitor. The other is a high end 4k monitor, very different beasts.
Gsync compatible is a term given to feeesync screens which have been tested by nvidia for compatibility with nvidia cards to a level that nvidia deem as good as if it were full GSync.
Any freesync monitor (which is AMD’s technology) will work with any GPU.
It’s only actual GSync screens that will only work with nvidia cards.
Hey Spyder, so I just saw this guide: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/3000-series-gpus-do-you-need-a-3080.72666/
Are you saying that the monitor I've chosen isn't right for a 3080? I believe the monitor overclocks to 170hz if that makes a difference but if its a 144hz card surely the important thing is having a 144hz monitor? Sure you could get a 4k monitor but how many games fully support that resolution?
I'm a bit confused about the guide as I thought that monitor would be a good fit but now I'm doubting myself, does your guide mean all 1440p 144hz monitors with a 3080 card as I'd hate to be "taking one away from someone who could actually use the card to it's potential".
