I feel like he actually did a pretty good job at Derby under the circumstances, it seems the owners at the time threw everything at getting promoted under Lampard but ultimately fell short. They then brought Rooney in, but the crazy spending they'd previously done left them under a transfer ban with literally just 9 senion players at the club at one point. He left the club once they got relegated and hasn't done all that well since.

it does make me wonder if one of the factors plymouth appointed him to the manager role was to put his name on merch and make money from that, plymouth are an average at best champ team and if rooney does not get the structure and organisation right they could end up being relegated.

The problem with being a Scouser - being one myself - is you can be intelligent, articulate, and well-educated, but the moment you realise you're Wayne Rooney you might as well give up...as he must have earned his coaching badges for good behaviour, time-served and promising to never try to manage a proper football team.

What do you think of this guy? Couldn't start for Holland, lucky first goal for United? Too early to tell but I'm happy to have another striker in the squad. Am I convinced he's a good signing? Not yet.

That's where all the Mancs live...the Liverpool/Everton players prefer Formby.

Although, and considering I live in Liverpool, the only place my car has every been vandalised or broken into has been Prestbury (posher than Alderley Edge, and less 'wannabes' too).

There were my preferred accommodations when I was working locally (at Glaxo/Zeneca in Macclesfield/Alderley Edge)...

When I was staying on my own:

Team hotel for Zeneca:
