Hi.

Mostly 1440p, I have around 250 pounds budged for the monitor so any suggestions on that as well would he appreciated.

It’s a computer for my son just mainly for games.

I wanted to go for the 3080rtx however the waiting time put me off it hence why I went for the 3070ti.

I heard the i7 12700k is more than enough for gaming as well hence why that option.

In the near future I will buy more RAM and possibly upgrade it to 32gb if that would be necessary im just waiting to see how this PC plays out.

You'll ideally want about £300-350 for a 1440p 144hz monitor, so I've saved a bit on the build here (our current recommendations are the Dell S2721DGFA, Gigabyte M27Q and ASUS VG27AQ). The 3080 would be overspecced for 1440p 144hz and the 70TI isn't really worth the price increase over the 3070. i7 12700K is a solid option. You have the budget for 32GB of RAM so I've put it in now. The H150i will cool perfectly fine, although I wouldn't actively recommend the LCD version unless it's something you really want. Any questions, ask away!

There's no wifi card in the build, you must have been one added by mistake. The board has wifi in built.

Most of the gaming will be done via wifi not wired.

As for the monitor I’ll have a look at what you suggested, the budged can easily be increased.

Also another thing as for 1080p monitors are there ahy cheaper options with 144hz?

The build you've ordered wouldn't be suitable for 1080p, it's vastly overpowered.

You'd want 1440p 144hz.

If you just want 1080p, then you'd need to change the build otherwise you're wasting money and power.

Hi,

Just been on a online chat with PCSpecialist and have enquired about my order which has been stuck on in testing for the last 4 days (from the 25th).

Apparently there has been an issue with the order during the stress test and it hasn’t passed, does anyone know what will happen now, if any parts need replacing or are incompatible(which it didn’t tell me when building this system on the website) will I be charged extra for that or is that down to PCSpecialist?

The PC has apparently been sent to the problems section and a technician is working on it.

The guy over the chat informed me that more than likely the PC is probably being stress tested as we speak (I suppose left over the weekend?) and if all goes well it will be dispatched on Monday (fingers crossed) as I did pay for the fast track dispatch, however what if it fails again, will they look at replacing parts and charging me extra for them?

The PC configuration is down below, on the website it said it was all compatible and there wasn’t any issues, the only thing that popped up was the fact that I have ordered a bigger power supply than the system requires, it said something about only needing 650w and not 750w, but surely that’s not the issue.

I'm far from an expert, but I would question the PSU on that. I believe Intel CPUs are quite power hungry and 750W seems a bit on the low side to me. Others who actually know what they're talking about will chime in before long I'm sure.

Right, not sure what to think of that, the reason for that PSU is because the website kept telling me I actually won’t require that much power with this configuration, even now when I go onto my order details it states;

I don't know what that power is referencing but it's certainly not what the build is going to require, it's miles off. Nvidia recommend 750w minimum for the founders edition and aftermarket cards tend to use more anyway.

There's no issue with having as high a PSU as you like, the system will only use what it requires, but having too low is an issue.

I don't know what that power is referencing but it's certainly not what the build is going to require, it's miles off. Nvidia recommend 750w minimum for the founders edition and aftearlet cards tend to use more anyway.

If PC fails stress test it's up to PCS to deal with that. It might take more time to sort out but you won't have to pay anything on top of what you already paid as (unless you decide to give them a call and pick a different component), it's not your fault PC is having an issue.

I would strongly suggest upgrading the PSU while it's still being tested, believe me, you don't want to be limited by that in the future as it's a real headache aside from huge waste of cash to have to upgrade it.

They'll take it back through troubleshooting and replace any components required, this will take time to investigate, but doesn't cost anything. Then it goes back through testing and so on until it passes testing.
