Wow, i cant belive how slow PCSpeciaist are to deliver a computer!

Ive slowly removed peripherals from my order one by one as a hint to them to hurry up but they havent taken the hint and ive run out of stuff to remove!

This is the first time i haven't built my computer myself, so maybe im not thinking properly here, but if i give someone a huge chunk of money i expect my goods to arrive in a timely fashion. I would only use this compnay again if they would accept half of the money at time of purchase and half when the computer is deliverd.

Im gonna price my build up on amazon, and see how much money i will save.

If you need the system as soon as possible you may want to consider fast track. When pricing items in a self build you should also consider the time it takes to do it + any warranty issues you may need to solve on your own.

Unfortunately at the moment there have been a number of issues with the new Skylake processors/related motherboards/RAM and I think this has basically delayed everything :(
I suspect many custom-PC builders have been having similar issues and delays.

But removing peripherals wouldn't have made a difference to you order anyway I suspect, its just the queue in front of you is going somewhat slower than normal :(, I think they have managed to get some progress over the last day or so with the issues, so hopefully things should get back to normal soon.

How long have you been waiting for your PC? I am on my 5th working day (pre-production)

I know it is annoying waiting but I think that is better than having rushed jobs. I waiting 14 and 13 days for my two laptops and they are always quicker than desktops. It is also down to the amount of orders they have, if there is a sudden rush it will slow things, there was a great offer for the Azure, saving about 200 so that will have caused a backlog of orders. Frustrating yes but worth the wait for a good job.

To give a little background and answer some questions.

I first orderd on the 29th of july, then skylake came out, and i changed from the 4790k, to the 6700k.

This started their order counting again, i think thats acceptable really given such a large change.

This was completed on the 10th of august. So 18 days later and im still "in building".

Althought it felt a bit like highway robbery, on the 25th of august i upgraded to 5 day fast track, we are now 5 days on by the gregorian calander, (4 days by the pc specialist calander) and it seems somewhat unlikely i will get my computer on the next working day.

According to the pc specilaist calander i am now on my 15th working day and my status is "in building".

In actual fact i gave them their money 33 days ago, and my status is "starting to get cheesed off".

Ive sent this email to pc specialist:

Hi PC Specialist,

This is just taking too long, I think I may wish to just cancel my order.

I have priced up the parts to build my own computer on Amazon, for about £50 cheaper I can get a noticeably better computer than the one I have on order from you, and with my free trial of Amazon prime it will be here in 2 days, so in 3 days (3 actual days not working days) I could have a fully working computer, with an even better warranty than you are offering.

Please let me know when you are realistically looking to deliver my computer so that I can work out if I still want to give you my business.

Lets see what we get.

Surely, if items are in stock then it should be a quick build? Thinking of ordering a laptop from you guys!!

It also depends on how many people are waiting for your orders and to have some patience. When accepting the t&c PCS have up to 30 working days to deliver the items. Not sure how you can get better warranty from Amazon since if you comparing like for like the manufacturer warranty will be the same without the hassle of building it yourself. It shouldn't take 30 working days.

If I received that rude email as a pcs employee, I'd ignore it and think, "cancel your order then". Do you honestly think this will speed the person up who reads it?

How would the warranty be better? What parts are you getting for £50 cheaper that will make yours significantly better? And all the parts available on prime to arrive in two days? Your email is a bit too full of holes and fantasies to be taken seriously dude.

If you can get a better PC for £50 cheaper in three days....... Then why order from PCS in the first place?

I don't think that is a rude email. This guy has been waiting a good while for something he's paid a lot of money for. Some of you PCS "champions" need to get a grip.

AS mentioned earlier in the thread they issue with the motherboards and/or RAM kits has had a knock on effect across pretty much the whole industry.

Lets try and keep the thread civil though, confrontational posts don't help anyone.
