You'd need a separate chassis just to hold the cards!would love 2 of these 3090's but flipping heck the size of them :-O lol
Just saw this from JayzTwoCents, worth a look:
And one from GamersNexus (always more balanced)
Absolutely, may take a little while as the cooling blocks will need to be designed and released by the 3rd parties, and this is a whole new design on the PCB so nothing currently around is likely to work. PCS would also need to make the builds and test them thoroughly before making them available.Are we likely to get these available on the liquid series builds soon?
You just take the 2 x PCIe 8pin connectors (often labelled as 6+2 connectors) and plug them into the 12 pin adapter which plugs into the gpu.Hey folks.
After today's announcement I'm looking at snapping up the 3080 FE for my machine but have heard of the 12 pin connection from LinusTechTips and I'm really unsure about the PSU situation, I've always had my PCs pre-built.
I'd very much appreciate if I could buy the 3080 FE with the 12 pin and plug it into the CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD I got. I've not opened up the PSU shroud since I got this machine from PC Specialist last November. I've looked at images online of the PSU and it's connectors but honestly I've no idea what I'm looking at and where it'd be plugged in.
Regards.
Just been playing with some quotes and the build increased by the following from "No Graphics Card"
2060 = £299
2060 Super = £387
2070 Super = £510
2080 Super = £804
2080 Ti = £1086
3070 = £567
3080 = £792
3090 = £1610
PCS don't price stuff at stock and then add on a building fee. You have to pay their building fee somewhere.....Is there any reason they’re priced higher than what NVIDIA said in the announcement? I’m new to all this so don’t know if NVIDIAs prices are before tax etc?
Yeah figured it’d be something to do with the building fees etc! Thanks for confirming!PCS don't price stuff at stock and then add on a building fee. You have to pay their building fee somewhere.....
I wonder what brand they'll use. Prices for the 3080 vary from £650 to £800 from the small number of sites listing prices so it isn't too bad really. I can't find prices for the brands PCS have used in the past though; Zotac or Palit. The Zotac looks very nice though, they've upped their game in the aesthetic region since the 20 series.
Starting to wish I'd spent more to get a better base system when I bought my system back in January No way mine will tolerate one of the new cards (not to mention the monitor upgrade needed!)...of course, at the time, my game playing consisted of older Need For Speed titles and wasn't even considering playing more demanding games
All i can really say now is roll on the 24th :-D
Also don't game on my system but do ton of rendering animation i would think 1 3090 would be big boost
from x2 2080ti
I would have gone with 2 3090 but giving their size they may need water cooled and not willing togo down that rute.I'm not so sure it would be a big boost to be honest. It'll just do certain things FAR better. It depends on the instructions and core utilisation to know whether it would be an improvement for you.
I'm sure there will be reviews etc that will cover the sort of information and insight you are looking for.
