Not ordered yet from amazon, the x version is tempered glass though and i would have thought having a mesh front is better for airflow? i cant imagine having glass covering yoru fans at the front is a good thing....
The x variant is also alot more expensive so the question is , is it really worth it and the only reason it is is because of the tempered glass front and preinstalled fans?
Yep, it's exactly the same case, but with different fans and front panel. (You can actually buy the front panels and swap between them as they're interchangeable.) And yes, the airflow front panel is much better: the glass panel is reasonably good by the standards of cases with solid front panels as it does have decent air gaps around the glass panel, but the airflow option is definitely superior from that point of view.

One last thing (and you might be well aware of this already, so please forgive me if I'm stating the bleeding obvious) is that there are both 5000D and 5000D Airflow cases: the former is significantly worse than the Airflow one (as well as being less pretty), so do be careful which you order!

Oh, and when it arrives, please share pictures in the showing off forum.

Oh thanks for the tip , i didnt realise i could buy a mesh front panel to replace, which i might do if i find the thermals not good enough but i cant imagine it will be terrible. Would you recommend any other extra fans then? since that case comes with 3 preinstalled.

Can you guys also confirm what extra case fans i should get ? if i order this case off amazon i checked reviews and they dont come with the a rear fan apparently so i know i need one. I am wondering if the extra rgb fans would be cool and easy to install elsewhere in the case? or should i just go with a standard single fan for the rear (assuming the radiator and cooler is probably going to be installed on the roof). https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08M4BN431/ref=twister_B08XQ2SM5H?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

They can be installed on the side panel – you can see the cutouts for them where the mesh is on the. Frankly I doubt you'll need them, though they could be added if needed. But you probably don't want the LL ones as they're hard to integrate with the case fans in terms of RGB effects: you'd want to get the SP120 Elite fans instead and add them yourself.

For all this I'd be astonished if you need to. I'd just go for the three fans that come with the 5000X and the two that come with the cooler: I expect that will be plenty.

The AIO functions as an exhaust. A rear exhaust won't hurt, but it probably won't make an appreciable difference.

(This is a horrid simplification, but it's generally better to have more intake fans than exhaust as it will prevent dust buildup.)

Thanks for the help guys, I'm this close to ordering just have to wat for some funds to land into my account tomorrow. last question i promise, when sending in my own case if its from amazon, should i put the name of the reseller on it or just amazon.co.uk? that case is sold by ccl computers on amazon. Also does anyone know if i get a white case do pcs supply white versions of the corsair ram an cables?

5000x now out of stock :( any other suggestions on cases that are similar? wanting to make sure i pick something i like that will also fit the 3090 and have decent airflow for the build and cable management. I can ofc keep an eye out and see if amazon get it again but its also out of stock on corsairs website now.

The 5000D is a good shout along with the 680x and the 500d. I believe they all should fit the 3090, PCS have the 680x and 500d in stock too last time I checked

Gah i hate trying to decide. im looking at the Phantex p500a as an alternative, its nice in aesthetics and seems similar (a competitor of pcs also lists it as a 3090 compatible case and ive seen pics of it with that gpu). The 680x looks horrible to me and is a massive cube, would prefer a mid tower and have considered the 500d but reviews were offputting on amazon. If i went back to my original pick, the 5000d, thats the one id have to order extra fans for since it only comes with 2. I just wish there was more case options rather than having to order and send in my own that i like.

Either the 5000X or the 5000D+three fans will be fine – they are in stock with retailers other than Amazon. For me they are the obvious choice for me in terms of airflow and aesthetics.

PCS has moments when it has a tonne of great cases; now is sadly not one of them.

oh your right thanks :D i can eh order from a competitor and get it delivered to PCS (seems kinda dirty tho lol)

how was the 500d for you? reviews were saying the fan controller position was awkward and there wasnt alot of space for cable management.
I'm still in pre-production 63 days,as l have read on the Corsair forums the controller is only stuck on and can be moved. The space for cable management though is a different matter with limited space.

Forgot to post the final spec :) . I was tempted to mod my order looking at the benchmarks between 5900x and 5950x for rendering and well id use GPU probably so not sure it would matter. I dont know how to overclock either but most reviews give mixed results, plus if im going to game i see the 5900x is better? or am i wrong. I'll use the fast m.2 drive mostly for main apps and windows only and games on the other m.2. I'm pretty sure ive got ample storage but there was little difference in price if i removed the other ssd so figured id keep it.

Noice 👍

Peachy build, it’ll dominate any task and it just made my kitten faint.

Quick question guys, i am thinking i might need to amend my order so want some advice. I have an occulus quest 2, this can only be via usb c connector. Does my motherboard only have 1 usb c? and the included one in my spec wont have that? should i change it to the 2 port usb card that includes a c port? so i have 1 at the front and 1 at the back? (case has a usb c at front as far as i can see).

Thanks!

Hi guys, my pc is still waiting to be built, im thinknig of amending the order, is it worth upgrading to the 5950x from the 5900x? i can drop the 2tb barracuda ssd since i have 2 m.2's on my order anyway and im pretty sure that 2tb will be ample for now (i also have a nas drive anyway for backups/storage of 3tb raided).

Here is the current spec, id only have to pay £30 more if i change the cpu.
