PCS P209 ARGB MID TOWER CASE

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12 Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.6GHz/70MB CACHE/AM4)

Graphics Card
12GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 - HDMI, DP
1st Storage Drive

External DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
6x Slim USB 2.0 External Blu-Ray Writer
Power Supply
CORSAIR 550W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre European Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler Black Edition
Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
Wireless Network Card
WIRELESS 802.11N 300Mbps/2.4GHz PCI-E CARD
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

Now I havent updated myself on pc-hardware for a long time, so I wanted to ask you guys:
- Are there illogical combinations?
- Can I save on parts without suffering big performance hits?
- Are there parts which I should invest more in? Where I would miss alot of value? (Are 16GB Ram enough?)

And some more specific questions:
- Will the Power Supply suffice?
- The RTX 3060 is "preorder only". Is there an estimate when they will be ready?
- Would It make sense to order extra fans?

The price comes to 1.576,47€. I would like to keep it at that level (or possibly go down a bit).

I am happy for all suggestions and tips. Thanks very much in Advance 😃.

Best Regards
Chris

Hey, a link to your specs would be handy. Also, what's a monitor you'll pair a PC with and what a PC will be for?

I'd consider either a 5600X or 5800X as they're a newer generation CPUs. Based on your budget, you're more likely to go with 5600X if not streaming or do video editing. I'd pick a faster primary M.2, definitely need a better PSU - at least 750W, preferably RMx modular, as they run cooler and quieter. Don't need extra thermal paste as decent coolers comes with a preapplied paste which is distributed much better. Cooler - depending on your PC uses... Better an AX wifi as they're faster and with a bluetooth, price is also very good.

A better case is also required.

thanks a lot!

I reconfigured the build according to your suggestions:

I added a better SSD, power supply, better WiFi Card and a better CPU, removed the thermal paste and changed the Case.

The PC will primarily be for Gaming and the monitor needs to be bought as well (suggestions welcome), looking for a 144hz monitor.

Are there any other suggestions for this build? 😊

Again thanks in advance!

Would it be a 1080p monitor or 1440p ? And has the monitor got its own budget ?

What's your overall budget including the monitor? You're probably not far off a 1440p 144Hz build. It all needs to be considered as a whole build, including the monitor, as that and the graphics card are really a pair that have to match.

My overall budget is at around 2000€. The Current build without monitor is exactly 1.573,95 €. So there is room of about 500€ for the monitor.

Could go for a 1440p 144hz build and grab a samsung g5 !

would that mean upgrading the graphics card in the build? (RTX 3060)

ah yes, that fits better into my budget 🤑

just to confirm, this: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/jSbHw2K!sb/ configuration would be able to go for 1440p @144hz?

edit: would the samsung g5 monitor work for this aswell?
Yeah samsung g5 will work well with your set up my only big issue is at the bottom of the config is warrenty this will cover transport costs if u needed to send your system back to pcs your currently on standard which covers carriage costs for a month for £5 extra I would upgrade it to silver to get a year of carriage costs coverd for the sake of £5 would hate to see you have a issue in 3 months and cost yourself alot more shipping it back to the uk on your own dime !!!

For the sake of (I think) £1 extra, you can change to a 500GB 980 and a 1TB PCS M.2 SSD. This has big advantages. First it is an extra 50% of storage capacity. Second, you can separate your Windows installation from your games drive, which is an advantage when you come at some point to reinstall Windows (it's genuinely a good thing to do from time to time).

Samsung is much faster than PCS M.2. I'd think opposite - best to have the fastest possible M.2 storage for OS, and 500GB is very optimum for that. Not sure why you'd be recommending a slower, but with more capacity storage for OS...

I'm suggesting having both the Samsung (albeit smaller) and the PCS for essentially the price of just the larger Samsung.

Hello Guys,

thanks again for all the suggestions. I actually was in the process of ordering the build, but i did not account for extra fees coming on top of that. The PC needs to be delivered to germany and after brexit it seems like i have to add about 20% extra to the price.

This effectively puts this build out of reach of my budget :(.

So my next step would be to make a 1080p build, if that is within my budget.

Can you recommend me on which parts I should downgrade? I was thinking the graphic card but to be honest dont know which one would be a good and affordable replacement.

As always thansk in advance
Chris
