Superposition by UNIGINE introduces the next level of immersion into virtual reality. We offer a totally new VR experience. In VR mode, Superposition outclasses many VR games in graphics quality and the number of interactive objects (over 900 in a single room!).
The benchmark is compatible with the most popular VR peripherals: Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Oculus Touch. You can check if a system is VR-ready and take in the full glory of the AAA-class PC and VR game graphics.
From the people who bought you Heaven and Valley benchmarks: https://unigine.com/en/news/2017/superposition-benchmark-has-been-released
(can be downloaded as an exe rather than a torrent here: http://sp-assets.unigine.com/d/Unigine_Superposition-1.0.exe )
Downloading it now. Can't wait to see it rek my system.
For the base stations, do the mountain kits require drilling?
I would recommend it but it's not necessary. I used sound mic tripods initially but I recently mounted them properly with the provided brackets.
I am trying to avoid drilling into the wall. Not sure if there is an alternative of mounting them properly without drilling into the wall.
I've got mine propped up, one on the top of the bookshelf leaning on a book at an angle to angle it into the center of the room, the other is in a wardrobe on the top shelf, similarly on a slanting book. It's not ideal, but works absolutely fine, have had no dead zones.
Just for your info, am having a session tonight and just going through firmware updates etc, and find that Valve have included the supersampling slider back into the Developer options on SteamVR which was taken away when it went full release. Not sure when this returned, but saves having to edit the ini files.
So:
Launch SteamVR, go to settings, developer tab, scroll down a little to Supersampling.
Well oculus rift for £399.

Problem is you still have to buy the hand controllers and an extra base station to get the equivalent setup of the vive, so it's not as cheap as it appears, although it's a step in the right direction at least, and may make htc drop their price.
Edit, just seen that includes the touch controllers, that is pretty good!

£399 for something I may not use very often but still very tempting.
Yeah, I think this afternoon I'm going to cancel my Vive order and order a Rift instead.
Reason 1: the Rift is 300quid cheaper give or take
Reason 2: for the Vive I'd have to get the Deluxe headset which is another 100 quid but theres none in stock anyways
But the most important reason is that I ordered by Vive on 2nd July and it still hasn't been dispatched and customer services are being less than helpful - noting that a workmate of mine also ordered that day and he got his a week ago ...
you try it already? the rift
