wow i just near S..T myself.
did as you said and ran both together.
got the cpu core showing 4600mhz:).

i then closed both programs.
then i was typing out an email to pcs to say it was ok.
while doing this i got a warning message flash up..."cpu temp 70 degrees".
i shut down the pc immediately, praying i had not cooked my new toy.
why did this happen?

dont think i will risk prime95 again!

cpu temp 70 is normal under prime95, no need to worry.

just curious to know the best place to connect the side fan in the haf-x.
it arrived unplugged , to accomodate the internal packing.
i noticed it's cable already had a 4 pin molex adapter connected to it! so i just connected this to a spare output from the psu.
is this correct or should i have connected the smaller plug directly to the motherboard chassis fan socket.
am i correct in thinking that the standard side panel fan is a fixed speed type?
cheers

I have it connected to the fan controller, however at 100% fan speed I can't really hear the fan. I'd connect it directly to the PSU. It is not fixed speed if you have a fan controller.

hoping to upgrade the gpu (next year) and soon add another hard drive.
a new monitor is first though.

You know the hard drive bays? You can take out the ones you are not using to improve air flow, also I think there are some power cables under those bays, maybe you could use one of them to connect the side fan.

the message comes when opening fan expert 2.
"access violation at address 0040b590 in module 'AI suite II.exe'. read of address 00000002"

Reinstall asus suite, i never experienced that issue before.

ok i have re-installed the asus suite software, but fan expert2 still wont work.

error message:
Server Execution Failed,Prog ID.
"asus fan controller service.fan control manager"

do i need to disable my security software prior to installing?

also after trying to run fan expert2, i then cant close the AI suite.

in the taskbar at bottom of the screen the AI suite button has a blue and yellow shield over it. is this a clash with widows own security?
cheers

What motherboard have you got Oldson. Ai Suite has a different software for different Asus motherboards. Make sure you are installing the correct one for your mobo.

trouble is, i cant be by the pc during their opening times.
work is hectic

I'd only reinstall windows as a last result, you could try uninstalling asus suite and go to the asus website for the latest version of the suite.
