My First Custom PC

Hi Junior, sorry I'm a huge pain, but I've managed to cancel my order and now I'm looking to start afresh.
This time I'm willing to have a budget of 1350, willing to go abit higher if you think it is necessary. I don't need a windows license because I have one available and I use an Ethernet cable. With luck what I want is in stock and the delivery would be shorter 😁

Sorry I've been a nuisance to you and I'm really grateful for you taking your time to help me out, you're a credit to this forum!
Thank you dearly
Hey, so in the time that you've cancelled your order and we've come to spec this one, the graphics card I'd recommend for your build has gone out of stock and honestly I'm unsure if it'll come back. As you don't need windows or WIFI I've been able to just get it in for £1,368 which is £18 over budget as I've had to go for a much uprated card.

The 3060TI (the one in your new build) is designed to comfortably handle 144hz at 1440p. As your monitor is only 144hz 1080p, this card would be massively bottlenecked by your monitor. There's 2 schools of thought you could take from this
1) It means if you were to want to buy a better monitor to a 1440p 144hz one down the line at some point, you'd be able to comfortably, knowing your Graphics card could handle it
2) You're spending more than you need to for a graphics card that you won't utilise properly so would rather save. Luckily NVIDIA has just announced an RTX 3060 which will release in about a week that will more than likely fit your budget perfectly. But as with the issues with the last releases, it's likely stock will be low and it'll take a while to get your hands on a card, and we have no idea how successful PCS will be with aquiring stock

If I knew this was gonna happen I wouldnt've recommended you cancel your order so I give my sincerest apologies for putting you in this situation. I'll give you this over the budget build and let you decide what to do. Again I apologise for putting you in this situation. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I cancelled my order because if I'm waiting 1-2 months I can save more money and upgrade my PC since I'm in no rush, I want the best specs for my budget so nothing is on you at all :)

Thank you for the build yet again, I'll order is immediately :)

I'm relieved to hear! I'd make sure you give your monitor an upgrade at some point, you'll have an awesome setup when you do (not that your current setup won't be awesome) If you've got a little more budget than I've spent, I'd recommend changing the 512GB SSD to a 1TB for £44 as it'll double your storage so if you play a lot of games with super large files, you wont need to install and uninstall them as much as you'd need to with the 500GB one. Also asthetically, I feel the TUF board looks a lot better than the Prime board for only £5 more (if you click on the ( i ) next to the motherboard options you'll be able to see images of what they look like so you can make a decision if it's something you wanna change

So I'm thinking of getting the PC without the graphics card and maybe seeing if I can get any luck with one, good idea or nooo?
I think the 3060TI's are still very difficult to get. Stores don't stock them often and I think you'll be lucky if you can get one from the bots.

If you would like to reduce your wait time you hsave a couple of options:

1) If you're able to do this financially, purchase the PC with the card, then try and source one yourself, if you're successful you can remove the card from the order so you know you've got one.
2) You could put a basic card in the system like a 1650 for now, so it's at least playable and shouldn't take too long to arrive, then as stock increases and cards are easier to get, you can buy one easily, swap it for the 1650 and sell it for a little money down the line.

Alternatively, you could just take the wait, as waiting 30-40 days for a PC you're gonna have for multiple years years is not much time in the grand scheme of things. That is also probably the cheapest and most hassle free way of doing it

If you're interested in sourcing your own card, I can message you with a link to a place that notifies you when stock goes on sale using a bot meaning you'll have the best chance of getting a card. It's your choice really but let me know what you choose!

It's all good! It was a fun build! You can basically purchase the PC from that last link, just don't forget to change the SSD to 1TB and maybe the Motherboard if that's an upgrade you chose to do! Don't forget to show us pics when it arrives!

Also they have mentioned that I have chosen 750w when they believe I only need a 450w. Should I ignore that?
Yes you should, the 750w overhead allows breathing room for the PSU extending its life and giving you more room for upgrades in the future

750W is for longevity

Which should i install my os, the SSD or my standard hard drive
Install the OS on the SSD 100%! Windows will load a whole lot faster along with any applications or games you put on there.

That's the bare minimum it would need, but would mean it's running near full capacity its whole life, shortening it's life. Having the 750W would make the system a lot more stable and have space for upgrades in the fututre!

You want the operating system on the SSD, HDD are pretty much just file storage these days (music/photos/documents).
The faster the drive that teh OS is on, the faster the machine will be, generally.
