Looking for a GOOD Music/Production PC

Thank you @sck451 I have gone with the MSI as I prefer curved and 165hz may benefit my Video Work for recording lessons etc - in answer to @Scott I have built this PC now and will take on board what has been said. The advice is very minimal changes needed. I have however removed the Thermal Paste and up'd the PSU

I am still standing by Ryzen though :)
Higher refresh rate won't help with video production work in the slightest, because you won't make videos at higher than 60FPS. It won't hurt, but it also won't help.

@steaky360 Seems the argument about the Intel/Ryzen - Yes the quote was slightly cheaper on his build. I get it.

If someone ( a continuted customer) wants advice, they don't have to stick to it, alot of this is personal and maybe some what individual to the use cases.... I dont beleive I have cut corners on much that warrants this kind of negativity around my build
Please don't misinterpret what's happened - its not about you having personal preferences (had you said that from the outset, it might have prevented an entirely alternative build being suggested)... its about you asking for advice... getting advice, (apparently) ignoring the advice and then asking for advice again on a build very similar to your initial post.

Bare in mind, pretty much everyone here is a volunteer, why would anyone want to help if it seems as though they're effectively going to be ignored?

I whole heartedly agree with your standing. I have always had the opinion that if you're happy.... I'm happy. I was referencing your request for reassurance.

I can't reassure choices that I don't agree with. I agree with the advice given and the choices made are to the detriment.

Your most recent assertion of wanting 165hz in order to help with "recording work" suggests to me that you don't really understand a lot of the concepts and terminology of the technology being advised, but rather you think you do and make choices based on what you think... rather than what we advise.

This is just another one of those threads that goes down a rabbit hole though so I don't see any point in chasing. If you are happy with your choices then I am happy that you will be satisfied with your build. I just cannot reassure you on them being the most appropriate, or even the best, choices for your money.

Thats the best reply I've had.

In all honestly, the build had been suggested by PCS themselves and the modifications were additionally added by me to ensure that the PC would be good for my needs.

I do know a little about technology i have worked in the industry prior to becoming a teacher. And understand a lot of what you are saying.

You are right, a rabbit hole thread is this. I have received nothing but opinion. I genuinely think 'Check your spec' should be changed to 'Let's have an opinion on what you've done'

The "advice" I have been given in this thread has had very little context to why what has been suggested would be better than what I said

The main aim of this forum area is to provide advice before purchasing, after the fact it's often difficult to bite the bullet and cancel. This leads to a defensive nature of the build, which is what we are seeing from our side.

Keep in mind there are 2 sides to every coin :)

At the top of this forum I created a sticky a while back that is in line with the intended nature of the forum. If we were able to rewind the clock and you found yourself there before hitting the purchase button, I'm pretty sure you would have gone down a different path.

Although quite different from your mainstream, big name, system suppliers...... PCS are still a business with limitations and finite resource to provide the latest, greatest and best information. On this forum we are all enthusiasts who offer our time, experience and knowledge in the hope of helping.... rather than having any profit or goal orientated pursuits.

I've said it before, if you want to know more about the car you're buying you always hit the enthusiast forums. The salesman will know the product very well, but they are looking for a sale at the end of the day.

To give you honest feedback on your initial choice, I'll go over the entire thing. If this is all you were looking for, you could have asked.... but it's not going to be the response you are looking for.

Case
PCS P209 ARGB MID TOWER CASE - Very poor case, really glad you switched this out. This choice sets off alarm bells to the mindset of fur coat with no knickers. Everyone seeing this will have made assumptions, rightly or wrongly, it's just human nature.
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.7GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4) - Excellent chip, one of the best for your uses. Currently overpriced and out-shone by the Intel offerings..... hence everyone would recommend the 12600 or the 12700.
Motherboard
GIGABYTE B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2: DDR4, USB 3.2 - ARGB Ready - Not the best choice of motherboard, especially for audio work. B550 STRIX would always be the recommended choice when firmly stuck on AMD. It's not a bad board by any means, it's a great budget option, just not for this use case.
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16GB) - Nothing wrong here, I would have opted for 3600Mhz (as you did) but all fine.
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3050 - HDMI, DP, LHR - For your uses I don't think the 3050 is a good choice. You don't need any sort of GPU power for your general use and for gaming there are much better options for your cash.
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3000MB/sR | 1600MB/sW) - Faster drive would be recommended
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2700MB/sW) - Excellent fast storage option
Power Supply
CORSAIR 650W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET - Similar to the case, skimping in an important and often overlooked area.
Processor Cooling
Corsair H100x Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler - Good cooler but a number of years old and not a great enough saving. Much better options available and recommended.
Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND - Not recommended, one of my personal taste pet hates.
Operating System
Windows 11 Professional 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence - Would always be highlighted that Win10 may be a more stable option.
Anti-Virus
BullGuard™ Internet Security - Free 90 Day License inc. Gamer Mode - Very much not recommended, should always be removed as it can cause a number of issues that are tough to trace.

Funny thing is. Just before it went in to build... I upped the PSU to 750W changed the Cooler to the H100i and changed the case to the Corsair 4000D

This is what I ended up with:
