Help with new PC specs.

After recently getting a new job and a nice income with this I'm finally looking to upgrade from my 2015 MSI Laptop to my first ever gaming Desktop, and that's what I'll mainly be wanting this for, gaming. Here are specs I've put in. I mostly enjoy playing strategy games such as Total wars and Paradox games, I would however also like to start playing more FPS games, especially the upcoming Halo Infinite. So I would like people's help and suggestions on what I should get for my first system. My budget is roughly £2000 (although if someone has any good idea's for anything lower around £1,500, always nice to save if I don't need to overspend), which will include a monitor, keyboard and mouse. I would appreciate recommendations for these as well.

You'd be better served with a 5600X CPU for gaming (cheaper too) with a decent m.2 for the OS and immediate/associated apps (980 Pro will do) and a 1Tb SSD for game installs if not another m.2 in the spare slot (870 EVO or 970 plus respectively) might as well make use of it, especially for later Total War games. HDD's won't do well for gaming, they no longer hold up with modern large install sizes and load times.
That GPU is also way overkill for the monitor/resolution chosen, you won't be using half of it's potential, nm there's better choices for monitors too.

I have to go afk for a while but I'll see what I can configure later, if nobody else does so first.

@CMP01 This is my first ever PC, only ever had laptops so I know a small amount about PC's and nothing about Monitor's, Keyboards and Mouse's.
The problem I can see is that you have chosen a 3070ti GPU, which is suited to displaying at 1440p and have then chosen a cheap 1080p monitor. To get the most out of that card, you would need a 1440p monitor which is adding a further £150-£200 to the cost, or else you need to choose a card more suitable to 1080p like the 3060 or 3060ti.

The monitors that are popularly recommended on here are

Whilst most people would say 1440p is now considered the sweet spot for pc gaming these days, if budget dictates going 1080p then you need to lower your expectations, or else increase your budget.

The following is a decent 1440p build, but with the addition of monitor and keyboard and mouse, you are looking at an extra £350 + on top of the cost of the pc itself.

If you go for a 1080p build and select a 3060ti, the cost of the pc would be £1,754.

Pair that with the following monitor for £169

gives you a total cost of £1,923, with just a mouse and keyboard to purchase

Again, it's a 1080p monitor so the GPU doesn't match, it would be an awful waste of a GPU.

What do you mean by futureproofing? You can't really futureproof a case, it's not upgradeable without swapping out for a new one.
I mean will it be big enough for good cooling, not to loud and will I be able to easily change systems parts when I need to inside the case.

It's a good case yes. But it's not quiet, but at your budget you need to make some compromises.

At this budget, you can either afford quiet and good airflow, or flashy and RGB with OK cooling.

Never thought I'd hear £2000 and budget compromises in the same sentence haha, well I've ordered my monitor

So now it's just finishing touches to the PC and I'll order that later, would you recommend waiting a little till august when the 3070ti is apparently back in stock? I'll be in no rush when I've saved the build I want.

Unfortunately prices are just sky high at the moment. Normally a £2000 budget would comfortably get you a 3080ti build.

I would risk it and put the order through now and join the queue so you know you're in line. You can make amendments to the build at any time while it's in the queue and it won't affect your place, and you don't get charged anything more than what the upgrade / dowgrade costs.

It's really only the 3080 and the 3060ti that are really hard to get hold of, but even the 3060ti had some orders going out today for the first time in months.

If you did want to put more cash into the case, the ones I'd recommend would be:

Meshify S2 - Simply one of the very best for cooling and space inside for building, superb case.
Corsair iCue 5000X - Good RGB case

It's a mad mad time at the moment, prices are going mental day to day, it's just impossible to say which way it's going to go.

Oh right, well going to let my Uncle have a look at the build tomorrow, see if he could get anything on the cheap for me (Great having a family member who's good with this stuff) and then I'll order it.

What do you think of the Monitor btw? I'm quite happy I've found one quite cheap really, and I'm a big fan of MSI, last two laptops I've had are from them.

It's certainly a good price for what you're getting. It's not one I'm familiar with though, have to say, but there's quite an in depth review here which speaks highly of it:

Hello all, back again with a new build.

I will be using this PC for mainly gaming, possible light video editing and streaming. Games I like to play are Total War games, mainly want Attila to run smoothly! new Company of Hero's 3 and I'd also like to run the upcoming Halo Infinite on at least high settings.

The monitor will be 1440p and 144hz, not decided which one specially to get yet but it will be at least those levels.
Budget is roughly £1800 but I'm happy to go under or maybe slightly over if recommended.
