CaseIf you're spending a bit more on the storage I would opt for the 500gb 980 pro as the primary, with the 1TB Intel 670 as the secondary. Makes more sense to have a faster primary drive.
Thank you, also quick question, is the motherboard which I picked good enough for the PC or should I consider purchasing the ASUS® ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready? No that looks spot on. I think you will be very happy. It's set up for a high end GPU as well so if you ever wanted to up the capacity for gaming, all you need to do is drop in an appropriate GPU![]()
Rather than upgrading the board, if you have spare cash, I would personally put it into the GPU as the 1650 is pretty weak by todays standards.Thank you, also quick question, is the motherboard which I picked good enough for the PC or should I consider purchasing the ASUS® ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready?
Gaming wont be a priority for me which is why I picked a weak GPU, I'll probably game max twice a week.Rather than upgrading the board, if you have spare cash, I would personally put it into the GPU as the 1650 is pretty weak by todays standards.
What monitor are you pairing this with, what make and model?
What would you change the cooler and storage to?I guess it would depend on what the intensive programming tasks are!
It's definitely a good PC for general programming tasks, e.g. web development and stuff. If you're compiling the Linux kernel three times a day, less so. In either case there are things I'd tweak, such as the cooler and storage.
What softwares are you using? Without knowing the specific load intentions it's hard to give concrete advice. What would you change the cooler and storage to?

It really depends what software you are using.
I'll be using Virtual Machine, PHP Storm, Kali Linux, Ubuntu, Github etc. I'm going for the software developer role and the PC will mainly be used for general use as well as coding. What softwares are you using? Without knowing the specific load intentions it's hard to give concrete advice.
That's not exactly light use then 😉I'll be using Virtual Machine, PHP Storm, Kali Linux, Ubuntu, Github etc. I'm going for the software developer role and the PC will mainly be used for general use as well as coding.
Oracle VM VirtualBoxThat's not exactly light use then 😉
What VMs are you running as that will hugely affect the specs?
But what kind of VMs? What are they hosting? How many are you running concurrently?Oracle VM VirtualBox
Actually scrap the VM I wont be using it. What would the final specs then look like without the VM being included? But what kind of VMs? What are they hosting? How many are you running concurrently?
Ok, it doesn't sound like you're fully sure of what you need.Actually scrap the VM I wont be using it. What would the final specs then look like without the VM being included?
